The orchestra’s 500th anniversary celebrations will continue throughout the year and were officially launched with this jubilee concert, during which Music Director and Chief Conductor Alan Gilbert conducted Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. The orchestra performed the work together with the Royal Opera Chorus and soloists. The concert also featured a brand-new work composed by Royal Court Orchestra member Torbjörn Helander.
