On January 30, 2026, Infanta Sofía of Spain paid a visit to the Breeding and Training Centre of the ONCE Guide Dog Foundation in Boadilla del Monte (Madrid). The centre breeds and trains guide dogs for people who are blind or have severe visual impairments, contributing to greater independence and safer mobility.
During her visit, Infanta Sofía toured the new Clinical and Care Complex (hospital), a project that has been underway for more than 35 years. The facilities include accommodation for the dogs, a veterinary hospital, and a residential centre for guide dog applicants during the training course they must complete to learn how to move independently with a guide dog. Accompanied by the Foundation’s technical staff, she visited the diagnostic testing room, surgical areas, and the veterinary hospital.
Founded in 1990, the ONCE Guide Dog Foundation (FOPG) has since provided nearly 4,000 guide dogs to people who are blind or have severe visual impairments across Spain. During her visit, Infanta Sofía also learned about the new Sensory Stimulation Classroom and the different stages the dogs go through before becoming guide dogs.

Nice casual outfit, the jacket is the perfect length on her keeping proportions
ReplyDeletebut why wear jeans when you are there in an official capacity, people receiving her are looking very officially dressed
Delete8:22 because you’re just 18 years old and going to a dog training facility! Give the young people a chance to grow and experiment before criticising!
DeleteSome people can wear jeans, and they look good on them and others won't look good no matter what they wear. Sofia looks great. The dogs are so cute. I think she found a new friend.

Agree! She looks wonderful. Honestly the things some people get upset about! And the dogs are adorable.
DeleteLovely picture (N°6). These days the commoners are often dressed better than the royals.
ReplyDeleteonly Spanish Royals do this!
DeleteSofia is 18. And looking confident and beautifully groomed. There is no criticism to be made.

DeleteWe are on a fashion site, aren't we ? Another jacket and other pants and she would have looked like a normal young royal. I like jeans but not to wear when visiting something or receiving people. The jeans she is wearing are not wrong, they are still good to work in the garden or to do other work in the house. A new pair of dark navy jeans with a lovely blouce and a jacket I like too, but the jeans she is wearing here are a bit worn out. I would never go out like this, not even to visit a shop in my neighborhood.
13:40 yes it’s a fashion site but nothing is more important than considering the context. Young person, doing a great job, we should not try to improve her.

DeleteHow could we improve her ? She is free to wear what she wants, but if another young European princess would wear an outfit like this (didn't even bother to fix the hem of her jeans) she would receive criticism too, but the Spanish princesses apparently are allowed more.
Not true 20:40. Any Princess going to a dog centre and sitting on the floor with dogs SHOULD be in jeans! It’s silly to compare them though - really unnecessary.
DeleteSofia est vraiment grande. Tout comme sa soeur Leonor, elle semble avoir hérité de l’empathie et de la gentillesse de ses parents. Josée.
ReplyDeleteSofia est plus grande que sa soeur Leonor.
DeleteLove this look for Infanta Sofia.
ReplyDeleteWe all know that it's not easy to find an off-the-rack jacket which suits one's figure -- but this square boxy style, which would overwhelm quite a few other royals, to me looks just right for Sofia. The width of the jacket is nicely balanced by the flare in the blue jeans, whose colour pops against her face and hair. The straight lines of the jacket mirror the straight lines in her charming, feminine hairstyle; and together, all these vertical lines show off her model-like height to great advantage.
For Sofia, this look could prove to be a great foundational formula for her smart-casual wardrobe. Lyra
Oh my goodness Lyra, that’s the best fashion analysis I’ve read here for a long long time. Thank you!
DeleteThis is a well put together outfit. Love her jacket, looks warm, good quality. Her jeans fit well. She is lovely and tall. This was a great visit.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect early solo visit and what an excellent outfit.
ReplyDeleteI do like the way Infanta Sofia is carving her own path, no fuss and fanfare, just a lot of quiet personal commitment.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know, she is part of the Spanish Royal Family but has no defined public role.
This is a very meaningful visit and I feel Infanta Sofia is a sensitive, empathetic young lady, just what it takes to fulfil some peculiar engagements related to people's disabilities.
Moreover, whoever loves animals usually have an inborn kindness and it shows in the way Sofia cuddles these adorable dogs.
Sartorially speaking , I love her sporty- chic style, it emphasizes her splendid figure and height.
Her hair is marvellous and would deserve a separate comment: long, healthy, shiny and neatly styled.
The Royal Couple must be rightly proud of their daughters!
That is a great jacket: a perfect combination of style and leisure. I would like to buy this myself! Sofia looks great.

I agree with comments above, it is a lovely outfit that suits Infanta Sofía. It is also a very good early solo initiative.
ReplyDeleteShe looks very nice. Great jacket. Although she is 18 and the jeans are lovely on her, for a visit such as this, it would have been nice for her to have worn simple black slacks to elevate the look and show even more respect to those she was visiting (not that she looks disrespectful at all, but it would have added an element of formality which matches the other people receiving her there, outside of the staff working with the cute pooches).
ReplyDeleteI don’t think she needed to “add an element of formality” for a dog training and breeding centre! She will have been perfectly well advised on etiquette including clothes. I’m glad she could wear jeans.
DeleteThe only comment on the jeans is that the hem should have been sewn, giving her a more polished look. However as an 18 she looks great, she is wearing shoes not sneakers
ReplyDeleteThe infanta Sophia looks wonderful. Youthful and contemporary like her everyday peers of the same age. No excessive style pretentions, just casual wear worn well - and that in itself is a matter of good style. Very nice!
