ReplyDeleteI don’t know what ugh is. Lacks context (and respect for a Queen). I think this is fabulous. An absolutely beautiful hat (which I’d wear every day!), and the pairing of red and camel is always sensational. She exudes joy always and is a pleasure to see every time because her outfits have so much zing.

ReplyDeleteA second day for good outfit/hair well done events. The brown hat was too casual with the odd piece of ribbon (looks like it was torn/thrown onto the hat), for the jewelry she was wearing. Black, dark gray, or navy hat/shoes/purse would have looked much more polished.

ReplyDeleteIt has not been very cold the last 5 days always between 13°C and 15°C.
DeleteShe came with her chauffeur just before the entrance of the building and maybe inside it was warm. I had to turn down the heating in my house a bit, because it was too warm.
19:36.. a cardigan is only required if 1. She wants to wear it; 2. She wants to wear it. I personally in European winters am cold outside and hot inside so find a sleeveless dress a marvellous idea.
DeleteGreat dress, great coat, lovely red colour on her. Fantastic earrings. I do wonder why she keeps wearing this hat on indoors. It looks odd combined with a no sleeve dress (because it's not the most elegant hat in my opinion).

I find this hat so ugly! It spoils the look of the feminine red dress. It reminds me of an old farmer’s hat one would find in the back of an old truck. It’s time to donate it! MR

I would happily own it and love it forever. Classic hat - and this wonderful adventurous fashion of pairing a felt hat with fabulous diamonds and rubies, stunning red garment, and coordinating shoes. Absolutely love the contrasts she has here.
DeleteModern farmers are not wearing old hats anymore to work, but modern new hats of cotton during summer and wool and/or velvet (corduroy) during winter.
DeleteGreat color combo and love the diamond & ruby earrings, but not sure the shape of the hat works here. Seems too informal for jewels, heels, and a dress with a gathered collar.

ReplyDeleteI'm thinking the same thing. Queen Maxima has a stunning figure and wears this outfit so well. Not overly crazy about the hat. Maybe it is covering up a bad hair day - if so, then ok.

ReplyDeleteI remember when this coat was new, how many bad comments she received for the neckline of the coat and now everybody likes it. New commenters I guess and the old ones probably were the only ones who liked it when it was new. Then she wore it with black accessories, but with camel/cognac accessories it corresponds more with the contemporary fashion.

A smart outfit, nothing more - certainly not worthy of the over the top plaudits given. The hat completes the look and thankfully hides the hair.
