  3. I do not like this outfit. Much better with the skirt like it is presented on the last picture. The earrings and necklace are not going well together.

    1. I agree with you. I don't like the purple top with the green skirt.

    2. a cream/ivory top would have done the trick

  4. Love this from top to toe….perfect hairdo and neutral wrap blouse to show off cool jewelry and a stunner of a patterned skirt in beautiful emerald green. Interesting, beautiful and great style!

  5. The fabric of the skirt especially the print is fabulous. It looks like silk. The purple top goes well with the green of the skirt. However, I don't like the necklace. It's too bulky and obtrusive for this outfit.

    1. Perhaps the necklace was a gift from the locals, so wearing it for them.

  6. Mary looks lovely. Understated, non-flashy elegance, perfect for a mixed casual/semi-formal outdoor evening event in the warm African night. Love the Hoevring top and the colour of it.

  8. Queen Mary looks beautiful and I love her outfit! The gorgeous green skirt has purple in the design and choosing the Jesper Hovring blouse was a smart way to bring a contrast. I also think this simple half up/half down hairstyle is super flattering on Mary and much prefer it to her current usual style of a middle part. Mary is wearing a very interesting necklace--would love to know more about it.

  11. This outfit is perfection. The pattern on the skirt is a nod to the beautiful designs found on Kenyan fabrics. The jewelry is fun and also reflects the sensibilites of Kenya. I wish she'd dress like this more often.

  12. Such a well-thought-out look. The necklace and her eye makeup pick up colors in the skirt in a lovely way. She has always looked beautiful in deep violet tones.

Paloma.

  14. I just read the news that Princess Astrid of Belgium, sister of King Philippe will stop with the economic missions abroad. She has health problems which do not allow to continue. It is becoming too difficult for her because of her age too. On doctors advice she should take it easy and she said herself that she is very tired each time she is coming back from a mission like the one to California which was the last time she represented King Philippe abroad. Princess Astrid will continue to do representation in Belgium if her brother needs her help.
Queen Mathilde will take over from Princess Astrid as long as CP Elisabeth's studies at Harvard University are not finished yet. By the month of June 2026 when CP Elisabeth's exams are over, we will probably know more news if she will lead the economic missions in the future to represent her father, just like King (then Prince) Philippe respresented his father King Albert II on economic missions abroad until King Albert's abdication.
We will know more about this matter next year 2026 when Queen Mathilde will take over the representation.

  15. Q Mary looks great; I like this combination of these two pieces. But then she can wear just about anything and she looks good.
