Queen Mary of Denmark is making a three-day official visit to Kenya. On December 10, 2025, Queen Mary arrived in Kilifi County, where she was received by Kilifi County Governor Gideon Mung’aro at Malindi International Airport. The Queen’s visit to Kilifi focuses on coastal conservation, sustainable development, and community-based environmental projects.
During her visit, Queen Mary is expected to tour conservation and development projects for endangered species along the coast, as well as landfill sites spearheading waste-management efforts, circular-economy initiatives, and urban environmental-resilience programs in Nairobi. Tourism and fishing are the major economic activities in Kilifi County due to its proximity to the Indian Ocean.
On December 10, Queen Mary, together with Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife, Rebecca Miano, visited the Dandora Landfill project — a powerful symbol of the strong Kenya–Denmark partnership. This Danida-backed waste-management initiative is an example of the solutions that the United Nations Environment Assembly resolutions seek to promote. The Dandora dumpsite is East Africa’s largest landfill.

Queen Mary is wonderful.

She is - and she looks stunning, whatever she wears!
DeleteIndeed, Denmark won the lottery with her! MR
DeleteFor someone who wasn't born royal Mary really does a wonderful job.
DeleteWhy is her portret hanging in the Governor's office? She looked soo lovely with the shorter hair.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the Governor has a collection of portaits which he can change each time a royal is coming to visit him.
DeleteI agree the shorter hair is nice
DeleteShe is awesome, happy to be a Queen, very active and the top royal lady for me.
ReplyDeleteQM looks so at ease in civilian clothes & rubber boots. Under 27C (78F) & humidity, the landfill environment can’t be pleasant. Yet she & her entourage soldier on👏. -Ann
ReplyDeleteMary est parfaite pour visiter ce site particulier car elle a su se vêtir d’une chemise judicieusement rentrée dans un pantalon ceinturé, les bottes complétant le tout !
ReplyDeleteI found it interesting that Mary wore the same blazer two days in a row. She looks great in these casual outfits. The blouse and shirt look smart and I like those very unusual denim (?) pants worn with the boots. I hope her visit has a positive impact on Kenya.
ReplyDeleteColumbia is a good brand if you have to be dressed well but comfortable to visit countries as a tourist. The clothes are light and easy to wash and to iron. I washed a lot of clothes from this brand and similar brands when my son came back from his vacations in the States and Australia. I had several full washing machines with shirts, T-shirts, shorts etc...but because it was easy to make them look new again, it was not too difficult to do. In the end he did like the locals. He took his clothes which need to be washed and went to a washing spot (shop) where he washed and dried his clothes, in the meantime he took a meal in a snack bar nearby and he went to change his clothes in the toilet rooms. He turned back to the rented car with clean clothes and drove to the next stop. He was in the company of a friend and later of his girl friend who became my daughter in law.
ReplyDeleteMary looks great in casual wear and this is no different. She looks great and perfectly dressed for the occasion.
ReplyDeleteCette personne m’est de plus en plus sympathique
ReplyDeleteCasual but nice.
