On December 12, 2025, King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway received the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, at the Royal Palace in Oslo. Crown Prince Haakon was also present. Machado was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her efforts to secure democratic rights for the people of Venezuela. She was unable to attend the award ceremony due to security concerns, and her daughter, Ana Corina Sosa, accepted the prize on her behalf.

Oh I'm so glad that she was able to meet the royal family after the award ceremonies. I fully understood the reasons for her absence, and am happy that she was able to be present at least for this accolade.

Madame Machado a très belle allure dans cet ensemble aux superbes couleurs !
ReplyDeleteQueen Sonia‘s dress is fine, but the stockings and shoes are beyond me, she could have done so much better with sheer, slightly tinted tights and classic pumps. Somehow, she does not dress as carefully as she used to, she seems to have lost interest and is developing a dowdy style, my impression.

Lovely purple dress on QS and the prize winner also looks great in her Chanel inspired outfit or is it the real thing? And of course the men are handsome as ever in their dark suits.
ReplyDeleteLove the last picture. King and son dressed quite smartly. King's tie in the same color palate as Queen Sonja and Ms. Machado's two piece outfit is quite chic. I might have opted for a little shorter. Any chance the Queen might get a more stylish pair of shoes for Christmas? She looks stunning until I get to those shoes :(
ReplyDeleteRe the shoes she wears these all the time and I think she has them in different colours. They must be comfortable, though not to my taste, they look like pixie shoes.
