The Duchess of Edinburgh is undertaking an official visit to Guatemala and Belize at the request of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. The Duchess of Edinburgh visited the La Alianza shelter and attended a musical performance by the girls residing there. She then visited Street Kids Direct in Guatemala City, a British organization that protects children at risk of living on the streets.
The Duchess of Edinburgh held a meeting with the Vice President of the Republic of Guatemala, Karin Herrera. Vice President Herrera informed the Duchess about the work Guatemala is carrying out in the areas of combating human trafficking, ensuring the comprehensive well-being of early childhood, and expanding opportunities for women. The Duchess also visited the National Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology.
Upon her arrival in Belize, the Duchess of Edinburgh was welcomed by Dame Froyla Tzalam, Governor-General of Belize, and Amalia Mai, Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.

Bith the white and Etro dress look gorgeous. See how a shorter length of the Etro dress makes her look so much more swinging. Especially when you have these wonderful legs like the Duchess has
ReplyDeleteTell her!! if all her dresses were that length and less prints
DeleteThe white lace dress is beautiful but I think it would look even better if the top wasn´t so bulky and the sleeves shorter. I know it is the same fit as on the model but I think a slimmer silhouette would benefit the duchess.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see her in the knee length Erdem dress. Very elegant!

ReplyDeleteI am so happy to see her in the knee length Ethro dress. Very elegant!
Tout est parfait dans cette robe chemise Etro au motif floral ainsi qu’à la longueur genou ; j’adore !
ReplyDeleteThe Duchess has legs! I hope she wears this length more often.

Grateful for a knee-length dress! Her wardrobe is stuck in a certain silhouette and it’s a missed opportunity. Similar to the other British royals, I typically don’t click on their events because the fashion is the same each time.
ReplyDelete15:52 I think it’s completely fine that you don’t click on their events. But I don’t think it’s a missed opportunity, as much as Sophie just not interested to do more with fashion. It simply doesn’t seem to be her priority. And I like this, that she has found what she is comfortable in, that she wears dresses she likes, multiple times. In fact far from being a missed opportunity, we could say this is Sophie getting on with her role sensibly and well prioritised. Not a missed opportunity, but a woman exercising own choice and focusing on the work
DeleteAgree they don’t always have the most interesting wardrobes. Every once in a while they come out of the countryside, Laura Ashley, and masculine cuts to wow us.

DeleteWell written.

All three dresses look lovely and suit her well. The white dress particularly looks wonderful. The Etro dress looks superb, love the pattern on the fabric, the length is perfect for her. The shoes are a great color. Lovely presentation.
ReplyDeleteThree different lengths. Or the ETRO-dress is old or she bought it online without knowing the length. The lace dress by ERDEM is too long and the sleeves are also too long. Sometimes ERDEM makes a beautiful dress but not always. The floral LEXY London dress looks more like a house dress or to wear as a négligé but not to go out and to meet people. I am not going to describe the white espadrilles and the hobby club made hand bag.
ReplyDeleteToo long for what, dear 20:00? Sophie enjoys longer hem lines, they’ve good for foreign visits to developing nations, and the dress is sitting on Sophie pretty much exactly as designed.
DeleteToo long to be elegant. Too long for the circumstances.
DeleteThree dresses different length. I like the white one. The Etro dress is a bit busy.

Three interesting choices. While I like the white eyelet, it could fit better and be shorter. The floral is a nice length - but look at the ladies she visited in these photos - their skirts are appropriate and flattering lengths; and, they are all more professionally and neatly attired that their royal visitor. The final frilly gown is a disaster - in my humble opinion. It looks like something Grandma Moses would wear. We go from professional and neat fashion creations with Princess Charlene and Princess Kako , and of course Queen Rania to this Duchess. They are just not in the same realm. She wears some things representing the Crown that I wouldn't wear to the grocery store. I say this sincerely, having worked for an elected official in the United States for decades and I was always mindful of what was appropriate and proper for the communities and organizations that I visited. After all I was representing the official and his office, so my every action reflected back. The same goes for Sophie in her support role.
ReplyDeleteLa robe Lexy London est vraiment trop longue. Je me demande combien de robes fleuries possède la duchesse. Il me semble qu’elle est toujours en déplacement. Elle ne doit pas avoir de problème avec le décalage horaire.
ReplyDeleteThe only dress I like is the white one.

The King is sending her around the globe quite often. A hard working member of the BRF, always on the go, whereever and whenever she's needed. Lover her Etro dress. The rest not so much because the length of her dresses (too long) just doesn't look good.
