Queen Máxima attended part of a music lesson for groups 7 and 8. The pupils rehearsed the specially written song 'Welkom op ons feestje' (Welcome to Our Party). 1. Hahaha!
I "like" this one better than the previous one. Or maybe there is less of a surprise this time around? No I seriously think that standing helps, the fabric is in place and looks less awkward

    3. LOL. That piece around her shoulders looks like something you’d slip over an automann.

  2. Messy un-brushed hair, yet again. In-house hair salon, yet this is how she goes out in public. Dreadful!
Dubious outfit, second wearing, does not look any better this time around than it did a few weeks ago.
On the plus side, the colour of the outfit is not too bad.
Children are smiling for the photos.

    1. You don't know if she brushed her hair or not. Your not liking her hair can be expressed (if it must be expressed for the umptieth time) in a more polite form, blogs should not be cowardly dumping places for rudeness.

    2. I agree with 16:09. I could not have expressed this better. I too am tired of the rudeness of here.

    3. Thank you Anons 16:09 and 18:37! I couldn't have said it better myself.

      I join @ Anonymous 16:09-18:27- 01:06.
I discussed some points on the latest post re: Princess Amalia.
I'm increasingly getting the impression that nasty comments are the result of generational gaps , which make some commenters blind to contemporary fashion.
I don't understand why some readers feel so compelled to comment on the young and middle aged royal ladies featured on this blog if they still live stucked in their old fashion world.
      I'd tell these readers:
"Please, just comment on older royal women and feel satisfied with it.
Why do you keep on repeating those boring refrains like my dearest eighty- year- old granny used to do?".
Rudeness is a quite different matter.
It is a trans- generational issue stemming from wrong upbringing patterns imv (generally speaking).
As to Queen Maxima, I think that she simply has oily hair and hair loss (seemingly due to a number of bleeching processes), which, I guess, must be hard to treat and keep in place.

    3. Ik denk ook dat dit niet erg praktisch is.

  4. The top reminds me of a straight jacket. Other than that, a good outfit on Q Maxima and a very worthwhile event.

    1. I was actually thinking "straight jacket" too. I don´t think this outfit is flattering. And the bare shoulders peaking out? Not to my liking.

    2. "Flattering" is never her prime objective, but rather having "a statement outfit". Not to my liking either.

Maxima ha indossato una nuova “camicia di forza” di un bel colore, ma che per me è un no.
Nonostante ciò, la si ama tanto 💚

  7. For me: less of a surprise now she repeats this weird feature (or is it a bug? :-)), but bad enough. Or: good enough to laugh out loud.

    1. You write that in a way that makes the design Maxima’s fault, but this is a Natan design. That fashion house is responsible for this interestingly shaped top. Maxima simply wears it. I think the colour is great on her and with her height and shape, this unusual top is very flattering on her.

    2. ad 18:39, there was no need for her to go for it !! Her choice = her responsibility. She could go somewhere else.

  8. I admire Queen Maxima and usually love her fashion sense. But, the wrap-around portion of this top reminds me of a lamp shade.

  9. Is this design?
Who thinks of something as unpractical like this?
A straihgt jacket some of you called it, and that is what it is.

    1. Well 14:49, Natan does. It is typical of their designs.

    2. It is not a new design from the imagination of Natan. It is just not common.

    3. ad 01:10 I agree with you.

  10. Good heavens. The first photo gives something of a jack-in-the-box impression, with Maxima's arms being completely out of sight. I agree that the outfit looks better when she is standing -- in fact it is growing on me -- but I still wonder how easily she can reapply her lipstick, blow her nose or put on her sunglasses... Lyra

  11. I quite like the upper part of the top, but the lower part makes it too layered. If the fabric underneath was the same fabric as the pants, and more fitting, it would look a lot better. I do like the colour and the concept of the outfit.

    1. If the queen turns up, it’s a thrill. The kids are obviously delighted and couldn’t care less. The queen of the country gets to decide what is appropriate. I find this whole unusual, neat and flattering. Nothing inappropriate here.

    2. Because???? A pants and a top? Where do you live?

    3. These comments declaring thing inappropriate are very puzzling. What is so inappropriate about what she is wearing? Bizarre.

I think Queen Maxima looks amazing. While I don't really like the wrap that she has around her shoulders, Queen Maxima succeeds in making the outfit look great.

    1. I agree just not practical.

    2. She has this in at least two colours so I think it’s more practical than first look seems. Natan is indeed a strange fashion house, but their strange designs mostly look terrific on Queen Maxima nevertheless.

  16. What a terrible design! The bare shoulders with the tunic don't make it any better. It's also not sustainable, because how often do you wear this? Invest in some truly beautiful clothes and mix and match them more often with all the other outfits hanging in the royal dressing room. There are other versions, including a dress; hopefully, she left that one hanging in Brussels...

    1. I saw the dress and I like it. I can only appreciate Maxima for giving interesting designs to look at. Even when she has misses, we are looking at a variety of outfits. I will gladly take Maxima's fashion choices over seeing a few of the royals in their boring, repetitive outfits that have become their work uniforms. They leave us nothing new to see and comment on.

  17. I love the color of this ensemble. The design doesn't appeal to me, but I applaud the Queens tenacity and effort to look to new designs and lets face it she is not boring.

  18. A mess. Bad hair, as usual, and ill fitting ugly Natan outfit.

  19. This suit is ruined by the ridiculous design of the top. It's a great color, Queen Maxima looks marvelous, and then the design ruins it all. By the way--I adore scuba material--very comfortable and perfect for changeable weather in the fall and winter. I own several tops and trousers in this material but all of mine are leisure wear--nothing dressy like this suit.
