Princess Aiko wore traditional Laotian attire before visiting the Luang Prabang National Museum, which is housed in a former royal palace. She also visited Wat Xieng Thong, a temple with deep historical ties to the former Laotian royal family. She then attended a luncheon hosted by the Party Secretary of Luang Prabang Province.

  6. Wow! One of the best looks I've seen on P.Aiko. The colour, the style and the fit of this traditional Laotian dress/costume compliments her very well.
You can even see how confident she is in her smile and her poise.

  14. Aiko is indeed stunning here, just radiant. I would not wish the role of empress on her; I think she will have more options in life as a princess. I do not feel the least bit outraged by the Japanese tradition of only males inheriting the throne, and I think it is great that the Japanese public can look forward to the accession of Aiko’s cousin Prince Hisahito to the role of emperor. Equality does not have to mean sameness.

    2. Her options as a royal will end with her marriage. While she is still single, I think we will see her as a great asset to the family.

    3. Yes, of course, barring the unforeseen Hisahito's father will succeed to the throne; however I think that the public in Japan probably look ahead with excitement to the younger prince eventually becoming emperor -- similarly to when Queen Elizabeth was still with us, many Britons, though aware that Charles was next in line, looked ahead to the time when William would become king. It is a natural enough sentiment.

  16. She looks lovely. The darker pink versus the pastel pink suits her. Her shoes like they are a size to big, it would be nice to see a shallower vamp.

  18. Anonymous 15.49 - I'm sure her parents are very conscious of her extremely limited choices as a royal Japanese princess. It's wonderful to see such a confident young woman out on the world stage, as her mother was before marriage. This is a fashion blog so I'll add that she does look stunning in traditional clothing. 19. The cut of the jacket is a superb piece of clothing architecture.. Just look at they way the bust darts the fractionaly too tight upper arm sleave, an extra 1cm ease there would solve that. Natan please note ,a crash course of pattern making and how to sew a seam and especially a hem in Japen would be a very good idea.
