On November 4, 2025, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima hosted a lunch at Noordeinde Palace for Dutch citizens who have distinguished themselves through exceptional achievements. The 27 guests had recently received awards or other distinctions for their accomplishments in various fields such as art and culture, media, sports, and business.
Among the invitees were athletes who had become world or European champions, the Teacher of the Year, the world’s best beer sommelier, and winners of the journalistic awards De Tegel and the Zilveren Nipkow Prize. Through this “Lunch for Outstanding Achievers,” the King and Queen wished to express their recognition and appreciation for individuals who have made remarkable contributions in their respective fields.
