On Thursday, November 13, 2025, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako visited the Tokyo International Forum in Chiyoda Ward to attend a ceremony marking the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the JICA Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV). The Overseas Cooperation Volunteers program was established in 1965 under the name Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers.

Love this colour on the Empress. She looks wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteHe certainly does! I also noticed the love between them is still strong. Lovely to see them! MR
DeleteAgree !!
DeleteHer style is constant but elegant everytime, with a different color! i wish Queen Camilla would do the same
DeleteBourgogne, une couleur que j’affectionne particulièrement.
ReplyDelete-Astrid.
I've never noticed before that the Emperor colour-coordinates his tie! I looked up earlier appearances and yes, he definitely does. Masako's "little jacket over a dress" is pure perfection in its elegance and simplicity. I am happy to see this nice strong non-pastel colour on her. The hat is wonderful, her usual hat shape, but somehow different - maybe the rim a bit larger? or is it the strong colour that makes it different?
ReplyDeleteHe does that frequently now, almost for every public appearance of the Imperial couple. That's such a lovely gesture. I absolutely love that subtle coordination effort.
DeleteThe Empress looks very elegant. The suit is a bit more fitted than so many of her others and a great colour with matching shoes. Love her hat. I think the brim is a little bit wider and a step away from the usual bumper hats.
ReplyDeleteWow - stunning. I particularly like the Empress’ hat and make up. Bold and beautiful color too.
ReplyDeletewow! new colours on the empress! Even if the style remains the same, she make exciting every time with accessories and colour
ReplyDeleteFabulous!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever seen E.Masako wearing this ruby red before, and she looks stunning. The pearls light up her neck against the deep colour and she positively glows. Best of all is the slight deviation of her traditional hat, which here seems to have a larger brim and deeper crown. Add the beautiful folds of the fabric around the crown, her delicate brooch, and of course, the Emperor's coordinating tie and the overall look is a winner.

I love this color on her. I especially like the wider brim on her hat. It's much more flattering than the other style she wore.
ReplyDeleteTrès élégante Masako aujourd’hui. J’espère qu’elle adoptera ce nouveau style de chapeau qui lui va à ravir. Fidèle à son habitude l’empereur porte une cravate en accord avec les vêtements de son épouse. J’adore.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Winter colors. The deeper shades are very flattering on her. The contrast of aubergine color in the hat and the gloves, bag adds a further depth of color to the outfit.
ReplyDeleteYou can’t fault the Empress, her outfits are well thought out, with attention to detail plain to see, even in the Emperor color Co-ordinating his tie. With a few of our royal ladies, they at times look like they’ve over slept and dressed in the dark, then rushing for the door. But when you see elegance and finesse on show it’s to be applauded and appreciated.
Lowri.
A new and lovely color on Masako. I like the fit of the suit and the hat is much more to my liking. She looks just wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a surprise. Beautiful 2 pieces, hat, shoes, everything. The jacket and skirt are fitting so well. The color of her shoes is adapted to her outfit. Her envelope handbag and beautiful leather gloves are adapted to. Who says that monochromatic look is not good, knows nothing about fashion.
ReplyDeleteLove to see the empress in a lovely colour and great ton-sur-ton outfit with joyfull hat!
ReplyDeleteThe fit of this lovely ensemble is different, even slightly daring. The slim skirt with a cheeky slit, a very surprising, very flattering look. The colour is wonderful for the autumn season. We usually see the emperor with ties in solid colours, but even he surprises us with the burgundy stripes, and he actually seems to be very pleased with his efforts, very touching.

日本では、この色を臙脂(Enji)と呼びます。
もともとは古代中国の染料の呼び名でした。
昔の女性たちが化粧に使った紅が日本に伝わり、日本の伝統色となりました。
Great outfit. The color is fantastic on her.
