Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel hosted a reception at the Royal Palace in Stockholm for the participants of the 2025 Crimea Platform Parliamentary Summit. On August 23, 2021 the Summit in Kyiv officially launched the Crimea Platform. The fourth parliamentary summit of the Crimea Platform will take place on November 24.
The Crimea Platform is a forum bringing together governments and parliaments to address the consequences of Russia’s annexation of Crimea, uphold the policy of non-recognition, and increase pressure on Russia to end the occupation. It is expected that the Crimea Platform will be represented in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

The blouse: probably it is a beautiful draped blouse, without the jacket, but it does not go well with the jacket, the V line of the blouse is kind of competing from the V line of the jacket, no harmonious complementing each other. And the colour is green, but is is neither the same tone nor contrasting enough, again, to complement each other harmoniously. I like the outfit - clean lines, flattering silhouette, great colour. The jacket could be a bit shorter for a more female look, but the trouser length balances it well and the blouse adds a touch of femininity, so we´re good.

How delusional must one be to believe that this initiative can in any way change the status of Crimea? Or the outcome of the war for that matter. I´d hate to be pictured together with these people, let alone officially host this event. This is clearly a political agenda and has nothing to do with representing Sweden, so I´m not impressed to see the royal couple involved in this.

I always find it funny that people who don´t like my opinion want to prevent me from sharing it, and then go on and openly share theirs ("I admire them for their effort").
I didn´t write one word about Russia. I´m not the one defending anything or anyone. But the people holding this event are. I don´t think they should. They are taking a clearly political stance here which they shouldn´t. This is not a charity event.
Anyone can opine on these matters, foreigner or not. That´s the specific purpose of this blog, and from what I can tell, it´s a beautifully internationaI crowd.

Kungligheterna uppfyller en roll i sina respektive länder och i världen, de har en viktig funktion. Det vet ju du också självklart. Det är med den bakgrunden att jag följer dem och diskuterar deras mode. Jag ser inte kungligheter som mannekänger eller fashion models, även om jag uppskattar den eleganta stilen som kungliga uppträdanden vanligtvis medför.
När det gäller min kommentar ovan, så tycker jag inte ens att den var så kontroversiell. Jag undrar verkligen vad den här tillställningen kan åstadkomma överhuvudtaget. Vadå Crimea platform parliamentary summit? På hemsidan star: “The Crimea Platform – is a new international consultation and coordination format initiated by Ukraine”. Jag tycker att det är olämpligt att kronprinsessparet tar emot de här människorna som enligt egen utsago vill utöva politiskt tryck i det pågående kriget. Kungahuset borde inte ta ställning i politiska frågor överhuvudtaget, och om så borde de engagera sig för fred och diplomati. Istället medverkar de nu i ett initiativ som bara innebär konfrontation utan en realistisk chans att någonsin uppnå sitt mål (att ta Krim från Ryssland).
Jag hoppas att jag lyckats förklara bättre vad jag menar.

Sweden, Finland, the Baltic states feel under pressure and/or threat from Russia too. Whether that is realistic or panic: we don't know, future will tell. But if Sweden (or any other monarchy) hosts a platform that involves political representation from the G7 and a long list of other countries it is not unusual there is some form of royal involvement. To degrade it to "ridiculous, delusional, confrontational" while in the same breath saying they should engage for something that works towards peace and diplomacy... what event/cause/platform/ should they attend/host/support then, in your view?
