The 2025 Princess of Asturias Awards Ceremony took place on Friday, October 24, in Oviedo, the capital of the Principality of Asturias. King Felipe and Queen Letizia, accompanied by the Princess of Asturias and Infanta Sofía, attended the presentation ceremony of the 2025 Princess of Asturias Foundation Awards, held at the Campoamor Theatre.
The Princess of Asturias Awards are presented each year by the Princess of Asturias Foundation to individuals or organizations from around the world who have made notable achievements in the sciences, humanities, and public affairs, with the aim of contributing to the scientific, cultural, and humanistic values that form part of humanity’s universal heritage.
Among this year’s recipients are South Korean philosopher Byung-Chul Han, Spanish novelist Eduardo Mendoza, American sociologist Douglas Massey, Mexican photographer Graciela Iturbide, American former tennis player Serena Williams, the National Museum of Anthropology of Mexico, American geneticist Mary-Claire King, and economist and former Prime Minister of Italy Mario Draghi.
On this occasion, Queen Letizia wore a black dress by the Spanish brand Sybilla. Princess Leonor wore a dark purple jacquard woven dress from H&M, and Infanta Sofía wore a burgundy dress by Miphai.

The Queen for the win….simple, sophisticated and stunning!
ReplyDeleteWow...mother and both daughters all look gorgeous, but I must credit the Infanta Sofia with a stunning outfit. I like the covering she has worn more than the dress underneath itself, and I also think that her height helps elevate the look of it. Well done! Letizia wears her dress beautifully but I find that she is looking less glamorous from the neck up in that first photo. Leonore is a beauty without question, but I find her dress though simple and adequate, slightly underwhelming. Love;y t see them all. The king has every reason to be very proud of his ladies.

Such an interesting burgundy dress, well done for wearing something unusual and carrying it off!
ReplyDeleteSofia looks good, this outfit looks modern and edgy, suits her well. Queen Sofia looks beautiful, this pantsuit is gorgeous. The detail of the jacket I love. Queen Letizia looks beautiful her dress is interesting. She is wearing those black diamond earrings, which I love, perfect addition with this outfit. King Felipe looks superb, well dressed and attired.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a fantastically elegant (understated elegance too, my favourite) family group. Can hardly believe that Leonor’s dress is H&M!
ReplyDeleteThese are the type of spectacular outfits I was anticipating for this years Asturias awards. All the outfits have style and personality. Sofia's is really unique with the wrap around pashmina. I like the way she draped it over her shoulder. Letizia ( I like the sheer overlay on top of her dress) and Leonor (I like the textured, rich looking fabric) also look elegant but some accessories/jewelry would have added some more glamour.
ReplyDeleteThat's not an Oscar night.
DeleteGlamour is for celebrities.
DeleteLetizia looks sensational! 🤩
ReplyDeleteWonderful to see both girls in dresses!
Celebrations are always nice. Nice outfits except infanta Sofia's dress. Well, she is young she can get away with it. I do like Q Sofia's suit.

Of course they can do it, of course they wear not only "office pant suits", but they don't need and want to glam up all the time, which is quite right. I love Letizia's profile with ponytail and I love everything about a lady ponytail - especially if it is an evening ponytail, excellent! Infanta Sofia is spectacular, the gown a mixture between classical greek goddess and playful youth, really beautiful, and I enjoy each time when she pulls away at least some hair from her face. Leonor is elegant in a restricted, very puristic way, we will see if this trait is here to stay, I would not mind it at all.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame that the crown princess is wasting her lovely youth wearing such a matronly and gloomy dress. Her hair and makeup is lovely! MR
ReplyDeleteJust a moment please - *you think* it is matronly and gloomy, it does not mean that it *is* gloomy and matronly and of course not, that it is a shame. Why not respect others and also Leonor's choice? I for one love the dress for its simplicity and perfect fit in all its simplicity, adding to it the nice way to accentuate the waist even if the skirt is wide, it is done by means of seams, without a belt and it looks beautiful. It fits Leonor like a glove, actually much better than the model.
DeleteWhoa MR. She’s not wasting her youth! She’s looking absolutely spectacular. Above all, let’s not pull down the young people, eh?; who may also read the internet. Let’s lift them up. Negative thoughts on young people, keep them to yourself. There is so much to celebrate in these young princesses that I’m happy to say: spectacular young women.
DeleteI too think it's a somewhat matronly and underwhelming dress that lacks the finesse and glamour you'd want for an evening outfit. Her styling is underwhelming too - no updo, no bling, no colour accent. She is still beautiful and the dress is of course fine. Just underwhelming. And that is a totally valid point to make. And given her beauty and potential to look stunning it is indeed a missed opportunity.
Delete22:18 Are you talking about yourself?
DeleteWell done to Queen Sofia for the bright white trouser suit. Well done to Infanta Sofia for pulling the long lengths of hair back a little. While I like the dresses worn by both Princess Leonor and her mother, I think they might have been more appropriate if they had swapped!
Paloma.
Stunning. For everyone who complained that the earlier outfits were not edgy enough here is a perfect example of what the Spanish RF can pull off on the correct occasion.
ReplyDeleteIMO, Princess Leonore and her grandmother are the fashion winners at this event. I am impressed by the height of Queen Sofia's heels. I just can't get too excited about Infanta Sofia's style. I guess it is evolving.
ReplyDeleteI agree
DeleteInfanta Sofia's dress is wearing her, not a good look. And the flat shoes are suitable for evening wear, she needs kitten heels
DeleteSofia is 18. Let her evolve without criticism!
DeleteThey all look lovely. I like Leonor’s the most, the texture makes the dress which in person it was probably even more. I would have liked to see a necklace, bracelet to bling it up a bit. I keep looking back at Letiza wedding photos with her hair away from her face, I don’t see the same face anymore, can’t put my finger on what has changed.
ReplyDeleteyes, first photo is kind of alarming! she lost so much weight
DeleteIt is only the photo, I saw her yesterday in person and she is think but healthy. I was no able to take a photo properly, too many people.
Delete*"think"...sorry
DeleteI mean thin
DeleteEveryone looks great. I like that Infanta Sofia is finding her way. Her outfit is a little flirty, yet a little conservative at the same time. I agree, her height is an asset here. Chris
ReplyDeleteTo me the best dressed is the Infanta Sofia. The burgundy color suits her very well. I prefer a color than always these black clothes. Sofia is becoming a very lovely princess but, she should use a lighter colored lipstick.
ReplyDeleteQueen Letizia's dress is too short to be a long dress and too long to have a normal length. I don't like dresses with an hemline around the ankles.
Her hair in a ponytail makes her look older.
CP Leonor's dress : nothing special to mention.
Former Queen Sophia : I am surprised she can still walk with heels like these.
We often see her wearing espadrilles under her pants.
Colored lipsticks are very Spanish, most of us use red, burgundy....so...
DeleteAnon 09:30...I agree...I look like a "dead" with so light lipstick, my eyes bright much more with colours.
DeleteWhat a proud family, mother and daughters look modern but als so ‘très royale’.
ReplyDeletePrincesse Leonore's dress is nice, but it does not fit the occasion and not fit a young Lady. With the dark colour and plain cut, it is a dress for day time events and should be worn by her mother.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore Leonor’s dress! It suits her brilliantly and is absolutely apt for the occasion.
DeleteMagnifique Léonor mais je n' aime pas du tout sa robe, Letizia et Sofia sont ravissantes
ReplyDeleteFroufrou
Sofia nous montre un nouveau style qui me fait penser -cela dépend des photos- à une vestale !
ReplyDeleteThe H&M dress looks much better on Leonore than on the model. Beautiful color and the texture makes it look more expensive than it is. Perhaps a boat neckline would look better, but it's a minor thing. Sofia is just wow! Her dress is stunning and surprising, suits her. They all look great.
ReplyDeleteLetizia was born in Oviedo, she is from Asturias, so she is in her homeland and her daughters are mid "asturian"....She obviously enjoys to be there.
