Denmark’s King Frederik and Queen Mary are paying a two-day State Visit to Latvia on October 28–29, 2025, at the invitation of the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs. The President officially welcomed Their Majesties with a ceremony at Riga Castle, the Presidential residence. Afterwards, President Rinkēvičs, the King, and the Queen attended a flower-laying ceremony at the Freedom Monument (Brīvības piemineklis).
Later, the King and Queen visited Latvia’s Parliament (Saeima), where Speaker Daiga Mieriņa received Their Majesties and introduced members of the Latvian delegation. The King and Queen then visited the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia (Latvijas Okupācijas muzejs). Afterwards, they visited the Latvian Academy of Culture, located in the former Scandinavian tobacco factory known as Tabakas fabrika.
The King and Queen participated in a guided walking tour of Riga’s Art Nouveau district. Riga’s historic city centre, including the renowned Art Nouveau quarter, was added to UNESCO’s World Heritage Site list in 1997. Riga’s city centre has the world’s highest concentration of Art Nouveau architecture, equivalent to a little more than a third of the buildings (approximately 800).

حذفHello 17:11! Well of course Europe is huge and has multiple climates, but yes at least where I am in Switzerland there’s been a northerly front for a few days, so a sudden cold snap with snow, but the warm southerly systems return this week and we’ll be back to tshirts!

Mary looks very regal and exquisite in this beautiful blue dress. The wrap style is very smart and classic. I adore the headband/psuedo hat.

Love the length the skirt of the dress has nice swish and moves well. Her pearl and diamond brooch looks stunning, perfectly placed. She looks very elegant.
