On World Mental Health Day, October 10, Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited École des Étangs Primary School in Ixelles, Brussels, to draw attention to the issue of bullying among children. The visit was part of RTBF’s HOPE campaign against bullying in schools. The Queen also spoke with teachers and parents about initiatives aimed at creating a warm and safe school environment where every child feels valued and supported.

One of the Queen's better looking outfits. Good color combo and suits her complexion well. Nice fit. Perfect styled handbag to compliment blouse. I don't particularly like the neckline of the blouse - prefer to keep it simple, but that's just my own quibble.

    1. Agree about the neckline not quite making the grade, otherwise the outfit is lovely.

  2. I find the neckline of the blouse interesting. This suit is a good colour and fit for the queen.

  3. I would like this much much more if she had the jacket on properly. Don’t mind a jacket on the shoulders between car on arrival and shrugging it off inside the door - Maxima often does this - but wearing it like for the visit, well I don’t think it looks good. Am I the only one?

    1. I agree. The jacket does hang properly as a cape.

    2. You aren't the only one, but I do not share your opinion. There are reasons to wear a coat, jacket or sweater over the shoulders. One reason is that the sleeves can wrinkle when they are not shoved into outerwear. As you may know from reading the comments here, wrinkles are never tolerated. It may also be too warm to wear a coat/jacket but it is too cool to go without. This is a way to keep the chill off. Weather can be unpredictable. It is also a way to keep an outfit complete, like with this suit, without getting too warm. Women have worn their coats over their shoulders for decades. Princess Grace is one royal that was known to do this dating back to at least the 1950's. I have always thought it looks chic.

Maxima is Maxima and she must do what ever she is feeling confortable with. But leave Mathilde in peace. If she wishes to keep the jacket on her shoulders and feel warmer or confortable like this, she must absolutely keep it this way. It doesn't change anything to the beauty of this outfit.

  9. Love the white suit on Queen Mathilde. The blouse is rather special, but it does look good. The color combination is elegant and chique. I like the way her hair is done here. I noticed she is wearing new shoes. The handbag by Carolina Herrera she already had. Queen Letizia has the same and also one in black.

  10. Une tenue qui nous montre des couleurs bien associées ; j'adore celle de son chemisier ainsi que son originalité au niveau de l'encolure !

  11. A classy, classy lady. This suit is great for Mathilde, a simple colour coordination which works very well. I wonder if more muted tones are the autumn/winter trend for Bel/Ned/UK

  12. Great colour combo which suits Queen Mathilde very well but the jacket is ridiculous with so many dangly bits. It looks particularly so when she’s bowling. Shoes and bag are lovely.
