On September 23, 2025, the Prince and Princess of Wales visited Southport to reaffirm their support for the community in the wake of the July 2024 knife attack during a children’s dance class. Their visit began at Farnborough Road Infant and Junior School in Birkdale, which Elsie had attended. The Prince and Princess of Wales were greeted by 430 children from the infant school—where she had been scheduled to begin Year 3 last autumn—along with staff and parents, including Elsie’s parents, Jenni and David.
Later, the Prince and Princess visited Churchtown Primary School in Southport to officially open a new playground dedicated to the memory of the young victims of the tragic July 2024 attack. The new playground includes a stage, dedicated reading areas, interactive play zones, and quiet spaces, all thoughtfully designed to meet the diverse needs and interests of children.
I see all kinds of stories about Kate's hair being blonde. It doesn't look blonde to me. It looks a bit lighter than her usual shade.
ReplyDeleteI think it probably was a temporary color/rinse as opposed to a permanent color. Every time she washes it, a little more of it washes out getting her slowly back to her "normal" color. I'm putting "normal" in parenthesis because she probably colors grey roots.
DeleteI might get flak, but I wonder how many times she played with her hair this time around. ~~Ruthie
DeleteYou cannot change hair colour to be a lighter shade with a temporary colour/rinse. But whatever she did, the light often tricks us believing something is there that is not there :-).
DeleteBeautiful woman. What a wonderful blouse with the bow
ReplyDeleteShe looks absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI like the pink and gray color combination of Catherine’s outfit very much, but am not a fan of bow blouses. Also, I think more of a blazer style coat would have looked better - the open coat looks quite voluminous as worn here.
ReplyDelete-Royal Watcher
Attractive white dress with black trim. I think this would also look very nice on P Catherine.
ReplyDeleteMrs Cleaver
A very nice look, coat with the pants, casual but elevated
ReplyDeleteI think the coat swamps her. The lapels are too wide. Catherine is blessed with a slim figure, she needs clothing that is more structured and streamlined otherwise the clothing swamps her petite frame. I like the pop of pink in the blouce, but for me the bow looks limp. If she had worn it wrapped round the neck with a side tie it would have given it a more flattering look.
ReplyDeleteLots of discussions on Catherine’s hair, which is her crown and glory, but I wonder the necessity for it to be so long. On engagements maybe wear it up or in a ponytail, again giving the look a more polished finish.
Lowri.
I would not say she has a petite frame rather a tall slender frame
DeleteYes, what she said (wink). Agree to all of your comments.
DeleteFrom what we know, her husband prefers her hair long - one of the reasons she wore it long for her wedding. I don't see anything wrong with her length - there is no rule that says cut your hair a certain length at a certain length, those are just other people's preferences.

Charmante et jolie Kate. J’adore sa tenue et son manteau en particulier.
ReplyDeleteThe Princess looks warm and snug in this grey coat. Her pants and gorgeous pink silk blouse looks splendid. Love this color combination. The grey shoes and clutch look splendid. The pearl and diamond earrings were the perfect choice.
ReplyDeleteAs opposed to some of you, I am warmly greeting a coat on Catherine that is neither a coat dress, nor a tight coat - just a completely normal straight everyday coat and a very nice one at that. Even a spectacularly slim woman does not always have to wear tight clothing (making thereby everyone gasp about how slim she is :-). It does not really swamp her IMHO, it just does not follow every curve on her body.
ReplyDeleteI agree with 08:41
DeleteI like everything what I am seeing here. The colors, the coat, the pink blouse, but I think it is a bit early to wear these winter clothes already. What will she wear when it is getting really cold ?.
I agree too. Also love the white dress. This lady looks really nice in it. I like when people dress up for the occasion.
DeleteI completely agree with you @Anonymous 08:41.

I very much like the pink of the blouse to balance the sombreness of the grey coat and pants. The pink may perhaps be a nod to the memory of the little girls who died.
ReplyDeleteI believe that Catherine's first job after leaving university was at Jigsaw. It's a brand I used to buy when the company had still had stores in my country.
We have rarely seen the princess wearing this brand; doubtless a wise decision which avoided any interpretation that she might be showcasing a business with whom she had had personal connections. Lyra
Great Outfit. Beautiful colors. The pink bow blouse is very nice.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree, but I must say that imv Kate is using too many and too long extensions lately. Of course I might be wrong knowing she has great thick natural hair. But now it looks to me a bit unnatural
Paloma.
I have given some thought to Catherine‘s hair. She dyes it for sure because I remember photos with the grey roots showing. She is relatively young, I understand her decision. What I fail to understand is her Alice in Wonderland approach. She also fiddles with her hair, which is irritating. I wish to be polite, but
ReplyDeleteI think a different, slightly more adult hairstyle would be more flattering.
🌞 Virginia
What is an "Alice in Wonderland"-approach?
DeleteHi Virginia.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you.
I had my hair done this morning and my hairdresser and I agreed
that Kate's hair needs at least 10cm off the length.
It looked way too long during the recent State visit, especially at
the evening Banquet.
And yes, the constant flicking of her hair is annoying.
Cate.
@Anon 11:54 "my hairdresser and I agreed that Kate's hair needs at least 10cm off the length." Well then, at this state of affairs, Catherine should take immediate action and let those 10 cm chop off as soon as possible. Now that Ms Cate and her hairdresser building a united front, no further delay can be justified. I am sure Catherine will oblige.
DeleteI don’t think she ‘needs’ to do anything … Her hair is always looking nice, even if some of us like another style better. At least she takes care of the way her hair looks.
Delete@ Anonymous 20:20
DeleteI agree with you, though, I must say I really like all of Cate's nice and kind comments, as opposite to other rude, unsolicited , false and mean comments I will gladly skip over from now onwards.
Those are not even worth being addressed, not my cup of tea for sure.
@Cate,
DeleteI like the way you worded your comment.
I don't agree with you and your hairdresser but I respect your views.
You know, it doesn't sound like a surprise to me as many of the hairdressers I have seen over the years were ready to chop off my hair , too!
Some of them seem to have a penchant for trimming everythin, lol!
Cheers
Gray coat + gray trousers = a bit too much for me. Did weather conditions really require a coat ?
ReplyDeleteAfter the tragedy, the residents of Southport displayed pink bows everywhere as a gesture of mourning. Catherine’s pink bow blouse is a beautiful, subtle indication of sympathy and support. I love it.
ReplyDeleteLady D.
The outfit looks very wintry. The other people in the pictures are dressed much more lightly, making Kate's choice seem rather heavy. This is especially the case since she is also wearing a coat indoors.
ReplyDeleteI like the grey colour though. the pink shirt is a good choice, but the style of the shirt could be more modern. I always wonder why so many royal women favour bow collars — they give off quite a strong Jane Marple vibe!
I would have chosen black or brown shoes to add a little edge to the whole look. -Siri
Je ne peux pas dire que je sois fan des cols Lavallière mais là, je reconnais que celui-ci de couleur rose, apporte une touche douce par rapport au reste de couleur grise !
ReplyDeleteLovely in gray. I would say it needs a little color, to make the outfit pop.
