On September 18, 2025, Queen Máxima attended a meeting in Amsterdam to mark the 40th anniversary of the Netherlands Brain Bank (NHB). Afterwards, Queen Máxima visited two laboratories of the Brain Bank where brain tissue is processed and stored. The Brain Bank collects brain tissue from deceased donors and makes it available to scientists worldwide. Scientific research on this tissue provides greater insight into the functioning of the brain.
The Netherlands Brain Bank collects brain tissue from both healthy donors and donors with physical or mental disorders. By comparing the control group with other groups, researchers gain insights into how brain disorders can be slowed down or even stopped. On this occasion, Queen Máxima wore a green silk dress from Natan’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection.
Oh dear. Great color on her but is she headed to a luau? All she needs now is a flower lei…
ReplyDeletelol
DeleteAll those hats it is so dated. Next time a helmet? Stick with the clothes. Those fringes do nothing for her.
ReplyDeleteBut she looks engaged and happy and feels good in it that's what counts.
9:23 I figure you’re not a hat person yourself? That’s ok a bit on the other hand, this hat is not dated! There styles tend to be newly created by milliners for the customer and very much suited to modern garments. I absolutely love that Maxima wears hats for big celebrations such as official openings and anniversaries to honour the people who invite her. Stunning!
DeleteCan any experts explain what that is she is wearing
ReplyDeleteCertainly. She’s wearing an interesting Natan creation in a colour that really suits her, a fantastic hat, and coordinates accessories. What’s not to love?!
DeleteJ'adore la couleur vert anis de cette robe mais pas du tout les franges !
ReplyDeleteWell, I like the hat. Q. Max wears these big hats very well. The dress however has too many competing elements - draping, fringe, uneven hemline - and the overall effect is discordant to say the least. Yikes! (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteOh dear!
ReplyDeleteThis would have to be just about the most ridiculous dress
I have ever seen a royal lady wear.
The culprit of course is Natan.
Oh dear indeed! I eco your words. But we have to give it to her she really confident, not everyone would dare to wear such a unique piece.

Wow incredible! I love the fun in her style! She is a one of a kind.
ReplyDeleteI often wonder if she has a style of her own or just puts on what is laid ready for her.
DeleteBeautiful color, but what a terrible fit, too tight, pulls on all sides, the petticoat comes from under the short skirt again...
ReplyDeleteCertes on peut ne pas aimer mais elle ose tout parfois ça passe où ça casse
ReplyDeleteJ' aime la personnalité de cette ravissante Reine
Maxima a une tête à chapeaux, ce n' est pas donné à toutes
Froufrou
I like this , The queen looks perfect.
ReplyDeleteSorry, for me dreadful appearance for the occasion.
ReplyDeleteAs Natan has got the overall form of the dress right, the fact that he/they then shredded the skirt is forgivable. The upper and lower flatter her, even if we are harking back to the flapper /20s era here which is unusual. The colour is superb and her and she totally gets away with it. Fabulous hat.
ReplyDeleteShe is dressed completely not for this occassion IMO.
ReplyDeleteEigenlijk is zo'n jurk alleen geschikt voor iemand die geen normaal werk heeft,
ReplyDeleteZie je jezelf al op een fiets boodschappen doen of in de keuken staan, ha ha
Best decadent hoor.
This is fun and eye catching!
ReplyDeleteWow, Maxima really knows how to steal the show. The colour and style of this outfit are spectacular and a spectacle. The long fringe is really....I don't have any words to describe it.
ReplyDelete@ 10.46 Natan may design but a person chooses to wear. The outfit is dreadful, imo.
ReplyDeleteThe 40th Anniversary of the Netherlands Brain Bank, and Max shows up in this mess of an outfit, with another one of the outdated, over the top hats? What was she thinking? She is the wife of a King, simply a shabby mess that no other wife of a King would even think of wearing. Jade
ReplyDeleteSo, the fringe is the most obvious problem to address here, but I´m equally annoyed at a) what´s going on with the underskirt/lining, b) the construction of the neckline, c) why Natan seems to insist to use shiny fabric, often in addition to bold colours and strange overall designs.
ReplyDeleteRegarding a): I cannot quite wrap my head around what´s going on there. There is a skirt under the fringe, but it´s rather short to start with, it´s a strange colour that doesn´t go with the acid green AND it seems to have yet another lining that for some reason sticks out.
Regarding b) I really dislike necklines like this that are so high they make me wonder if the bodice is the wrong way around and the front was meant to be in the back. I know that´s not the case because of the visible seams and darts that are in the right place, but why would someone want the fabric to reach up to one´s neck and go right across? It´s so high and in the way it´s forced to crease where the neckline should have ended. The only reason to cut something like that is to create a plunging waterfall neckline, which of course is impossible to achieve with this type of fabric.
In spite of the nice color, this is not to my taste. I wonder where it could be appropriately worn.
ReplyDeleteUgh!
ReplyDeleteToo bad, she has a great shape and is pretty but, no taste in clothing.
Kim
Pure Maxima. You've got to hand it to her - she doesn't shy away from anything daring or edgy. If she likes the dress, she wears it. If she needs an occasion to wear it, she makes the occasion. And she wears it boldly with confidence and her ever present warm smile. I love the colour, the dress and the signature hat. The hat balances the quirkiness of the dress. This is modern royalty that can wear all kinds of clothing styles and genres (formal, high street, couture, traditional) and make it work for them.
