On September 19, 2025, Queen Camilla attended the opening reception of the Queen's Reading Room Festival 2025 at Chatsworth House in Bakewell. Chatsworth House was one of the filming locations for the 2005 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen. The Queen's Reading Room, launched by Queen Camilla in 2023, is a charity dedicated to celebrating and promoting the transformative power of books.
During the festival, the Queen met a number of well-known figures, including actress Celia Imrie and author Richard Osman. Queen Camilla also gave a speech and took part in a discussion about the positive impact of reading on mental health with people supported by the local domestic violence charity, The Elm Foundation. On this occasion, Queen Camilla wore a black dress with white polka dots by Fiona Clare.
Very nice look for the Queen. I am glad she feels OK again after the Sanities attack. Know how she feels, it is no fun.

This style of dress suits the Queen and looks lovely. The color and white outline of the bodice looks pretty. For this engagement, a very appropriate and great choice.
ReplyDeleteQueen Camilla looks lovely here! So glad she is back in good health--a sinus infection can make you feel so ill and leave you exhausted for days, even weeks.

The red jumper is fashion item number 1 (who is he?), and the stunning art work in dark colours in picture 3 is fashion item number 2. Nothing compares with these absolute glories. Off now to read about Chatsworth House and who has lived there in previous centuries.
ReplyDeleteDésolée, j'ai tout de suite pensé que cette robe déjà portée allait continuer à ne pas être à mon goût ; en effet, c'est au niveau de la patte blanche que je n'arrive pas à donner un avis positif !
ReplyDeleteWell, I think this is who she is: a no- nonsense woman, very good in making contact with people of all different backgrounds, enjoying litterature and stimulating people to enjoy reading, etc., I can go on but shall not.
DeleteBye the way: I think not really interested in fashion but with help making the best of it.
I think here shelooks quite good and charming!
Je suis d'accord avec vous. Cette robe m'a toujours fait penser à un tablier ou un cache-poussière.
DeleteOh dear, you are really ruining your reputation!

DeleteIl solito vestito di Camilla, lo stesso e unico modello che le sta bene. Perché cambiare se a lei non interessa farlo?
ReplyDeleteAs a woman of almost 90, I appreciate the fortunate cleverness of the people who have found a design which suits Queen Camilla's taste and physical abilities and looks very stylish on her. When you reach "a certain age" trying to follow trends of length, tightness of fit, color etc. seem trivial. One wants to have joyous, fulfilling days and not worry about what everyone thinks about your clothing. QC's zipper bodice fronts enable her to dress without straining her arms. Flatter shoes let her stand more comfortably. Life has more important things to worry about. I say this for all of the older queens: Sonia, Sylvia, Margarethe, Sofia, Maria Teresa. With any luck, we all will reach a venerable age and realize what is important: kindness and forbearance.
