TOD'S Burgundy Leather Shirt and Gabardine Wool Pants
ReplyDeleteVolle Zustimmung.
Deletethe lipstick is giving Halloween.
DeleteHer hair would be more beautiful in a fringe or side part.
A smaller hand bag.
Change blouse to another material
Heels give more height.
Agree with you.

ReplyDeleteDommage.

DeleteGuten Abend Inc.
ReplyDeleteIch kann ein bisschen Deutsch verstehen.
Die Lippenstift ist schwarz am meinen Telefon.
Schrecklich auf Deutsch.

Fashionable outfit. Not beautiful for Princess Alexandra. A lighter color for the jacket and on her lips but in the same color range would be much better. Her skin is very fair and a dark lipstick like this doesn't do her any favors.
ReplyDeleteShe looks terribly drab imo. She can do much better
ReplyDeleteLove the pants perfect fit, however the shirt seems too stiff and bulky for her. Perhaps if she had warn it open as a jacket it would present better. Not a keen fan of the dark lipstick, a bit goth, doesn’t really work for her.
ReplyDeleteFor me, the shirt is, sorry, ugly - I repeat: for me. The colour, the leathery stiffness, the breast pockets, the incomprehensible sleeve length. The pants: well, pants, as pants go, but the colour is not really good with the shirt. The lipstick has a certain Halloween quality. Simply nothing to like for me. Alexandra looks like a wannabe who tries too strong to impress as somebody she is not.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely agree.
DeleteTotally agree with Anonymous 15:42
DeleteEntirely agree with Anonymous 15:42

Agree on all points. Really terrible
Delete@ Good quality leather is not stiff. These shirts/jackets were fashion in the 80s too. We worn them with something underneath like a T-shirt with long sleeves, a jumper with a high neck. Even in the offices young women wore these shirts as a jacket. We wore them in colors that matched our pants and with booties with half high block heels. I worked in a very big building in those days. There have always been problems in that building with the heating/air-co. We were used to find solutions to have it warm enough by wearing woolen clothes and thermic underwear for example. These leather shirts were the perfect solution to be dressed more or less elegant and feel warm enough at the same time.
Deletewow! I'm thrilled by this entire ensemble,. This is the first time that I have seen Alexandra dress in a way that flatters her Gamine essence.(Up till now she has worn clothes which, on her, create somewhat of a "little girl" vibe.) The colour palette here is subtle, sophisticated and flattering; and the use of leather adds an interesting touch to the tried and true royal formula of tailored-pants-and-a-tailored-shirt; I'm reminded of Charlene's menswear-inspired looks. I also applaud her large bag, which works with the outfit proportions surprisingly well.
ReplyDeleteAs for her lipstick, its a bold, artistic choice - and I love it. Lyra
Totally agree! Maja
DeleteI agree @Lyra. I don't understand the criticism she gets but of course everyone has an own opinion. She hardly ever gets good comments on this blog but what should she be wearing?
DeleteI think this outfit is amazing and that burgundy lipstick is just the color of her leather shirt.
She has grown up in the shadow of her older siblings and is still looking for her style and place. I hope to see more of this style on her, no frills and bows.
And nowadays leather can be made really thin and breathable, it can feel like silk on the skin.
Delete@Lyra, I like how you analyze they way she often seems to want to look - the gamine-like appearance. Now that you mention it, it sums up the direction she wants to follow quite well. But alas, I think her appearance, above all her face, contradicts this ambition, so she cannot really be convincing. IMHO, she has a very sweet looking soft face, a very "girly" face, nothing that I can see is in harmony with this kind of clothing and this lipstick colour. It looks a bit like masquerade.
DeleteTo be honest: She is average. And there's nothing wrong with being average. But yes, it becomes a masquerade when she tries to be like Charlotte Casiraghi.
DeleteIt seems a strange idea, an impractical idea, to have a leather shirt. In general if humans are going to sweat, it’s under arm … so why design a shirt in a fabric that can’t be washed? Todd’s has never been to my taste, but seems to be a long running successful brand and therefore to the taste of others! Her pants seem to be very neat and practical for rewears. The man with the hippy bag also seems to be very darkly dressed in leather, his outfit is also not to my taste. Leather is a great material for clothes as it’s long lasting and as a natural fabric it will break down safely unlike plastic based materials, but in my humble opinion should be used as outer wear so the inner garments can be washed! If it’s not practical, it’s not my fashion choice!
ReplyDelete@ 17:01
DeleteThat is why we wore it with a T-shirt underneath and/or a woolen sweater during winter and a puffer coat on top. I don't know how old you are but I worn it the way I described it to go to work. We found it very practical during winter.
Sometimes difficult to understand which ideas are going through the head of designers, and whether they are thinking about who can wear it. IMV not Prss Alexandra. She is more among those ladies who are at their best with soft and flattering colors, particularly since the fashion show is showcasing Spring fashion.
ReplyDeleteThe nepo baby who thinks she is a model, like her sister Charlotte. But money does not buy style and elegance.
ReplyDeletewe are all nepo babies! most of do us follow the same path as our parents and benefit from the networks they have established.
DeleteNo Anonymous 17:37, we are not all nepobabies!
DeleteI doubt very much that Alexandra wants to look like Charlotte; I see nothing Charlotte-like here. Imo this is a beautiful outfit, and Alexandra's unique charm and individuality comes through loud and clear. -- Jane
DeleteWhat happened to her left hand, was it amputated? ;)
ReplyDeleteThe shirt is 2 seizes too big, I guess she borrowed it.
Paloma.
Nella prima foto c’è 😅
DeleteI love both pieces and would wear them myself. What I don't think works well is that she tucked in the shirt. It creates bulk around the waist. As Lyra mentioned above, she is usually in clothes that make her look like a young girl. This is what a sophisticated woman wears. As to the comment about sweating in a leather shirt, wearing a leather shirt does not mean you are going to sweat. I have a couple of them and it has not been a problem. It is only a problem if you wear leather in very warm weather. It is very suitable for a cool autumn day. The shirt can be cleaned, if necessary, by leather cleaning methods. It is a little pricey, but money will not be a concern for her. I do not like the lipstick color on her, though I can understand why she chose it. She was creating a look, but the color is not flattering on her fair skin. I think she could have gone with a nude lip and let the statement shirt be the star.
ReplyDeleteStunning. Yullia
ReplyDeleteTo me, the dark leather shirt is reminiscent of 1940s military-allied uniforms. I find it really off putting. The same blouse design in almost any other fabric would be beautiful.
ReplyDeleteInteresting, I had the same war-era feeling about her shirt, and in general her outfit.
DeleteI emphasise with her - not easy do discover what suits you when you’re surrounded by so many style-savvy family members. Plus, unlike her mother. half-sister and sister in law, she has a very different build. She went through a doll-like era probably because she was a skater and that is precisely how she was supposed to dress on ice. Now she seems to be through an almost gothic period, hardly an improvement in my view. She’ll eventually get there, seemingly getting at least somewhat independent in her choices.

Marie
ReplyDeleteAdams family vibes, not her best look
ReplyDeleteActually, a good look for the Pss.

Not an attractive look for this young woman at all.
ReplyDeleteI get the impression that this edgy/ more on the sexy side ensemble plus makeup are not designed for P.Alexandra's delicate frame and facial traits.
ReplyDeleteBesides, I personally would have opted for a biker jacket in the same deep and rich burgundy colour.
I am not a fan of this type of shirts/ blouses/ tops.
Basically, the colour scheme is well balanced per se, channeling one of the latest trends, i.e. burgundy & grey combos but that's not intended to look wow on each and every woman.
I can envisage the full outfit on a stately tall woman , possibly with a well toned body.
Also the makeup execution could have been captivating on other facial traits.
I think that deep red/ burgundy lipstick shades look more charming and dramatic on plump, more defined lips, not on thin ones.
The contrast of dark colours with such a fair complexion is an excellent choice, but , alas, not on this gracefully dainty young woman.
