I wish they really could walk to school along the waterfront with the proper freedom childhood should bestow. Alas m, although the school is within walking distance, assuming they’re living at the Palace, I rather fear they are chauffeur driven. They are very cute and I wish them a very happy rentrée.

lovely kids. Gabriella is getting taller than Jacques! Girls tend to grow faster than boys at this age.

Even in uniforms, they are allowed some individuality in their backpacks. It is a glimpse into their interests. Gabriella appears to have a Labubu. Very trendy!

I think there’s quite a bit of individuality here … Jacques is wearing $700 calfskin leather and suede sneakers … pretty sure most other school kids are not. Would be a great opportunity for the parents to say yes these are the shoes we could afford … but these $70 shoes are the ones you’ll wear because your feet are growing, so you can feel free to kick a ball at lunch time, and be like the other boys… now to which people in need would you like to donate the other $600? That would be excellent royal training.

Chapeau. Just from a photo you can see what brand of sneakers Prince Jacques is wearing and/or of what kind of leather they are made ?

@Anon 5:21 Would you please site your source on Jacques' shoes? Not that I don't believe you, but I can't see enough of his shoes here or anywhere else to identify the brand. I don't find any site identifying them, either. His backpack cost $20. I know that much.

You hardly know what they are teaching their children about charity, or what they do as a family in private. Just from the public side, these children have been exposed to helping their community more than other royal children than we have seen. They have been in their community picking up trash on World Clean Up Day, and handing out Christmas gifts to the children of Monaco at the annual Children's Christmas Party, for example. Let's not take a lovely post about two innocent children starting their school year and ruin it by trying to shame the family. Everyone we discuss here has far more money than most of us reading about them. Their clothes are often much more costly than any of us can afford. It doesn't mean they should be shamed. The $70 shoes you suggest Jacques should be wearing are still very expensive for some families. We all live in our own socioeconomic bracket. In my opinion, their "royal training" is progressing very nicely.

I found the information on ufo no more. The rest of my answer is below submitted at 17:27. My favourite blog is this one but sometimes I look there to check an outfit specifics.

I think they are happy to go back to school and see their friends again after the long summer holidays. In the back of photo N° 1 one can see other children with red polo shirts and backpacks. Maybe Jacques and Gabriella go to school in a group with other children. I hope for them they can do what other children do every schoolday.

Heureusement qu il y a des familles qui peuvent acheter vêtements et chaussants hors de prix. Cela fait vivre des entreprises. Cela ne me dérange aucunement

I’m sorry it came across as trying to shame a family, not my intention; as a school teacher who values equality in the classroom for happy kids, I was more thinking of Jacques’ highly priced luxury shoes would make him less like the others which can be hard on him! I want all kids to come to school ready to be kids including kicking balls at lunchtime, so my comment was from that perspective!
