The renovation works on the facades of the Royal Palace of Brussels have been completed. On September 18, 2025, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium took the time to meet and thank the 130 employees of the Buildings Agency, Monument Vandekerckhove, and the Royal Palace for their work over the past two years. The Royal Palace of Brussels is the King’s administrative residence and main workplace, where he works daily with his staff.

The work was organized in phases to ensure the palace remained operational. The process began in March 2023 with the most visible phase: the front facade. In less than a year, the front facade was restored, while work continued on other parts: cleaning and restoring the rear and side facades, the curved gallery, service courtyard, Brabant courtyard, and garden walls, balustrades, fences, staircases, and statues.

Approximately 700 windows were restored or replaced, about 18,000 m² of facades were cleaned, 4,500 m² of garden walls were cleaned and restored, 16 statues were cleaned and restored, and the woodwork was also refurbished. The official conclusion of the works was marked by a provisional delivery on May 22, 2025. The renovation took a little over two years and cost approximately €6 million.

Yes she’s nearly always or at least incredibly often in Natan. Most of the time I think the designer hasn’t quite got the garment right. I don’t know why, but that house tends to use really stiff materials and I think it makes a bigger boned woman look chunkier when in fact she’s not, as we see when she wears softer fabrics. Like a few others here over the years, I wonder how on earth Maxima and Mathilde have such a strong preference for Natan. All that said, this colour is lovely on her and she looks marvellous as always.

Queen Mathilde looks beautiful here. I'm giving this Natan dress an A-. The neckline looks like it is nearly strangling Mathilde and the model.

Queen Mathilde wore this dress on March 25 during the state visit of Singapore to Belgium. This time she preferred not to wear the beautiful brooch in the middle of the bow like she did last time. She wore her earrings by Carolina Herrera. The beige clutch was also by Carolina Herrera.
Surprised we didn't saw pictures of last wednesday when King Philippe and Queen Mathilde assist at a concert and a gathering with people who lost a family member (especially parents who lost a child) in a car accident. Queen Mathilde lost her grandmother and her sister together in a car accident.

Nice bow detail. No freaky details haha.
But they can be nice if nicely done.

  9. Le style et la couleur orange vif vont très bien à Mathilde ; la fleur ne me dérange pas d'y tout

Queen Mathilde does not wear always Natan. She is client at Dior (dresses, coats, gala dresses, jacket + skirt, shoes and handbags). She is client at Armani ( Giorgio Armani, Armani Privé, ...) of whom she wears pant suits, shoes, clutches, gala dresses,....She has dresses, clutches, handbags and jewelry by Carolina Herrera. When CP Elisabeth studied at Oxford, Queen Mathilde bought dresses at English brands like Erdem, Safiiya & her first evening dress by Alexander McQueen, hats by J Crew. She wears clothes by Belgian high street brands like Marie-Mero, Caroline Biss, Essentiel Antwerp,
She is wearing Oscar de la Renta. Queen Mathilde has many garments by international designers and Belgian brands. When she was in Africa or Asia she bought cotton or silk to have dresses made by Belgian dressmakers who work sometimes for her like Odile Jacobs and SaÏd Meer from Meer Couture.
She has such a large choice of clothes that the quantity of dresses she buys at Natan's is not as big as you think. Since Eduard Vermeulen of Natan is "Fournisseur de la Cour" since the time Queen Paola was still a princess, Queen Mathilde will continue to order clothes at this Belgian brand, just like other Queens are buying clothes from designers in their country. Queen Maxima however must not feel obliged to buy clothes at Natan's if she doesn't want to. In The Netherlands people say she should buy more at the Dutch designers and less at designers from abroad.
