Veronica Beard Kona Dickey Jacket and Marbeau Pants
The Princess of Wales Visits the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood
On August 6, 2025, the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood released a series of animated films that explore brain science and explain the key concepts behind how nurturing interactions support the social and emotional development of babies and young children. The Princess of Wales has been closely involved in the development of the project. In June, the Princess spent time with two of the illustrators and met early years practitioners involved in the development of the films during a creative workshop. To mark the release of the animated films on August 6, new photos from the Princess’s visit to the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood were released. The new animated films from the Centre for Early Childhood showcase how adults can create nurturing, loving interactions with children, helping to foster social and emotional development during the earliest years of life. Also available in Welsh and British Sign Language, the films will be integrated into training and practice across the UK. They cover topics such as growing an emotionally healthy brain, recognizing and navigating emotions, managing big feelings together, and creating space for connection. The Princess wore a forest green set: the ‘Kona Dickey Jacket’ by Veronica Beard and the matching ‘Marbeau Pants’ from the same brand.
She looks lovely in that shade of green. And I like that her hair is away from her pretty face.
ReplyDeleteNice trouser suit in a lovely colour and eminently suitable for the occasion. I’m not certain if the length of the jacket goes well with the pleated trousers but a minor criticism. Personally, I miss her classy dresses or skirt blouse combos.
ReplyDeleteHi Annie M.
DeleteI too miss Kate's feminine and classy dresses.
Since becoming the PofW the pantsuit has kind of become her
go to uniform.
Cheers. Cate.
I miss them too 🙂
DeleteBeautiful and so relatable!MR
ReplyDeleteThis shade of green is a great color for Princess Catherine but I’m not a fan of this pantsuit. Not on her or the model. I don’t know if there is a particular cut of wide-leg slacks that would be flattering on someone with her build but this does nothing for her. They seem to swallow her frame. The jacket fits but seems to be too short in proportion to the way the pants fit her. Again I’m thinking they look a size too big for her. She has a long torso and slim, boyish hips so this is not a great look, in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI fully agree, you said exactly what I was thinking
DeleteI agree. A longer jacket would look better with these pants. It would cover the part of the pants that hangs too loosely on Catherine. -Siri
DeleteNice colour green, fits nicely. She can wear this style pant because of her thinness looks good.
ReplyDeleteThe cut and style of the suit is excellent. Simple and elegant lines. No fussy blouse - I like it. The color is good for the PoW. With her height , she can wear the wide legged trousers quite well.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely pantsuit, the color is sublime, gorgeous shade of green. I'm not sure this pantsuit looks good on the Princess, quite baggy. I prefer the look of the model overall.
ReplyDeleteWere the photos published because it's Meghan's birthday? What date do the photos have since those people are always on holiday? Pathetic! Irene
ReplyDeleteshe went on august 6th... yesterday
DeleteYes they are now on holiday on a yacht in Greece so this is not a recent photo.
Deleteits Summer holiday in Britain, everybody is on holiday.
DeleteBecause you dont see them 24/7 does not mean they are not working; they have staff meeting, plan state visits, liason with charities they support, alot is done behind closed doors
I have the feeling the holiday on the yacht (rather highly criticized) was mentioned earlier and was over by then. Quite often royals have an engagement very soon after their return, so that everyone knows they are back.
DeleteThese photos are from last June.
DeleteThey pictures were released on August 6th 2025 because this is when the animated clips series were due to be launched. Hence why.
DeleteIrene, why would photos of the Princess of Wales that are published on the 6th have anything to do with Meghan Sussex's birthday that was on the 4th?
DeleteIf you read what is written in this post, they mentioned why the photos were released when they were, i.e., "In June, the Princess spent time with two of the illustrators and met early years practitioners involved in the development of the films during a creative workshop. To mark the release of the animated films on August 6, new photos from the Princess’s visit to the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood were released."
T
They are still in Greece. Obviously you are right, Irene
DeleteMEOW!!! DIQ
DeleteIrene, this is not “publishing”, this is someone’s blog! What she chooses to post when is entirely up to her and we can be glad it’s public and we are allowed to read her posts. It is not pathetic - it is hers!! Additionally, as T has described so well, you must read the notes and consider context before getting outraged!!!
Delete@T - beautifully said.
Oh absolutely, because clearly the entire media universe revolves around Meghan’s birthday. Forget global events, economic shifts, or actual news, everyone just dropped everything to celebrate Her Royal Highness of Relevance. I mean, those photos couldn’t possibly have been taken on any other day, right? The sun itself probably adjusted its angle to flatter her cheekbones for this particular day.
DeleteWhose birthday??
DeleteIrene was joking with her outrage linking the timing of a blogger posting a photo of the Princess of Wales to a Netflix reality show presenter. Too silly an idea to be anything but!
DeleteIrene 😂 The audacity! How dare Meghan have the outrageous nerve to be born on a day when the Prince of Wales is gracing the public with his presence? I mean, birthdays should obviously be scheduled around royal engagements, basic etiquette, really.
DeleteWhy mention the Prince of Wales here?
DeleteVery chic, very good colour for her. She simply looks gorgeous. Brave woman with a good heart.
ReplyDeleteAgree.
DeleteThe green colour is beautiful but unfortunately the fit and the length of the jacket is not for her. She is lovely anyway.
ReplyDeleteAgree
DeleteAutumn colors just like Princess Anne.
ReplyDeleteJe ne comprends pas en quoi le vert (couleur de la verdure en été) serait une couleur d'automne ?? (Les feuillages en automne ne sont justement pas verts !).
DeleteOne can wear whatever colour one choses no matter the season. It is a garment's material make up that determine its appropriateness to the season.

I'm not sure to what extent green, muted earth tones, or burgundy are automatically considered fall colors, or whether people still think in such categories. The green of Princess Catherine's blazer is just as much a part of the current fashion color palette as the sage green of Princess Anne's jacket. But of course, that's a matter of opinion.
ReplyDeleteIt is not a question of thinking in categories. It is a question of what's on the market for Fall fashion. If you see a lot of greens in the new collections you will automatically be attired to that color. There are a lot of colors for Fall this year: wine red, grey combined with wine red and or pink, dark beige combined with navy or royal blue, bottle green,.... Lucky there are always enough colors and choice for everyone to find something which is matching ones natural colors like hair, eyes, skin tone, etc.... The sage green (?) of Princess Anne's jacket was indeed a fashionable color this Spring and Summer. For Fall and Winter the greens are darker like Princess Catherine's pantsuit. It is only the beginning of what will be fashion during Fall-Winter collection of the several designers and brands.
DeleteI absolutely love everything about this outfit. Great colour, modern and stylish fit. Victoria Beard seems to be a popular choice at the moment and personally I can see why. The brand brings something new to trouser suits which is perfect for 2025.
ReplyDeleteSperbe couleur verte que j'aurais bien vue combinée avec une jupe légèrement ample !
ReplyDeleteWhy does she shift up her sleeves? In my opinion it doesn’t do the outfit any good
ReplyDeleteProbably because she wants to I suspect. As a human, she has preferences for her own clothes. Just as you do!
DeleteIt’s wonderful to see her looking so well. She looks fabulous in stringer colours and the design of her pants suit is very striking.
ReplyDeleteThe pants seems to just hang on her. As far as pushing her sleeves up, I tend to do that too, I prefer 3/4 sleeves, doesn’t get in the way when you write or work on a surface.
ReplyDeleteCatherine looks beautiful and I love this suit on her. The color is marvelous for her. Catherine's work and support for children's vital development in their early years is so important and I applaud her for her commitment and outstanding work in this field.
ReplyDeleteJanet
