On August 23, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia attended a solemn ecumenical service at Storkyrkan (Stockholm Cathedral) in Stockholm to commemorate the centenary of the 1925 ecumenical meeting. The service, held under the theme A Time for God’s Peace, brought together representatives of several Christian denominations, as well as choirs and delegates from the different member churches of the Christian Council of Sweden.
In 1925, Swedish Archbishop Nathan Söderblom (1866–1931) invited representatives to the Universal Christian Conference on Life and Work, which gathered a large number of international representatives from Orthodox and Protestant churches. To mark the 100th anniversary, the Christian Council of Sweden is celebrating the Ecumenical Year 2025 with various events, including an Ecumenical Week in Stockholm in August.
Queen Silvia looks good again after the troubles she had with her feet. It looks like she can wear her normal shoes again. Her hair looks good too. I like her in this ensemble of a coat and a dress in a color which suits her. Love her necklace with multi colored pearls.
ReplyDeleteVery nice dress and coat, suits her so well. Lovely picture of unity.
ReplyDeleteThe jewellery, shiny clutch and hair ornament all compliment the interesting texture of the suit. Brown is not a colour I am used to seeing Sylvia wear, but she carries it very well indeed. Lyra
ReplyDeleteShe looks lovely....her hair for her age is amazing.
Paloma.
Nice outfit for Q Silvia. Summer break must be over, so it is back to work again.
