Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako Arrive at Suzaki Imperial Villa for Summer Holiday
On August 1, 2025, Emperor Naruhito, Empress Masako, and their daughter Princess Aiko arrived at the Suzaki Imperial Villa in Shimoda City, Shizuoka Prefecture, for a period of rest. This is their first visit to the villa since August 2019, shortly after the Emperor’s accession to the throne, and they are expected to stay for several days.[ads id="ads1"]Emperor Naruhito arrived in Shimoda at night after declaring the opening of an extraordinary session of the Japanese Parliament earlier in the day. Together with the Empress and Princess Aiko — who wore a white dress — he greeted the gathered locals and tourists at Shimoda Station on the Izu Kyuko Line.
Wow! Empress Masako looks very smart today in her blue and white outfit.
ReplyDeleteNice suit from Empress Masako, nice strong color blue the blazer. Nice dress for Pss Aiko. Hope they have a nice summer vacation.

What a cute dress for the princess. I bet it is silk, very comfortable and light to wear.
ReplyDeleteAh I had assumed cotton but silk sounds more lovely still. To help me learn, how do you see from the photo that it’s likely silk?
DeleteYou could be correct perhaps a cotton voile, I just thought the way the fabric hangs. However the sheer sleeves I guess would be a give away.
DeleteEmpress Masako looks absolutely amazing and I love her choice of outfits. Nice matching shoes. Princess Aiko has a nice summery dress, but with her father's casual attire, I think the young princess would look better in a casual slacks and top. I respect the Imperial family's traditions, but young people truly need the opportunity to express themselves somewhat in their own fashion attires. And I'm not a fan of the shoes. Maybe it is her choice, but I remain doubtful. - Virginia Dogwood
ReplyDeleteThe Empress looks beautiful. Her white pants look refreshing and cool. They fit well. Love the blue jacket. Her two tone shoes are gorgeous. Princess Aiko looks pretty in her pale dress.
ReplyDeleteHope for princess Aiko she will be freed from the tradition, as she will not be an empress and go abroad to study, like her mother did.
ReplyDeleteShe completed her university education already (in Japan) and now works for the Japanese Red Cross part-time. So, studying abroad will be rather unlikely. Perhaps working for the Red Cross in some other country could be something possible for her.
DeleteMaybe she wants to stay home. Not everyone wants to get on an airplane or boat and travel the world. She has everything she needs at home. Technology these days can replace the need for travel.
DeleteSuperbe Masako dans l'association du bleu et du blanc - Aiko porte une robe légère qui me semble être en soie rafraîchissante pour l'été mais au niveau des chaussures, j'aurais bien vu un petit talon !
ReplyDeleteThey all look very charming, lovely and relaxed. Wonderful!
