    2. I think those are wonderful colors at any time of the year and look good together. The pants are looking a little bit too baggy or big in front but the silhuette looks good. I also like that she has chosen flat shoes with wide cropped pants.

These colors are wonderful for summer. It is a bit old fashioned to think that particular colors belong to a given season.

Not a very regal look, I must say, and quite unnecessary. I think Queen Elizabeth once declared that one must never disappoint because people have certain expectations, and she never did. Very sound advice.

I agree. People dress up because the queen is coming to visit; it's a special occasion, so they generally make an effort. So it's disappointing when Her Majesty has arrived seemingly in her "at-home" clothes. Lyra.

Sorry but Queen Maxima doesn't disappoint me at all. The younger generation have been told and learned about sustainability, respect for the environment, recycling, dress down for certain occasions, etc....
These days royals gain more respect by showing they can also live with less. The people appreciate that. Some royals know that and reserve the pearls, jewelry and hats for special occasions.

“Quite unnecessary”, Virginia?! Beautiful language - but choosing her own clothes might have felt necessary to her, and to her low key visitors. I think she looks stunning, and it’s refreshing to see her so lovely out of haute couture and towering heels. Here she is with the people, not above, and isn’t that a fabulous way to visit a sustainability initiative.

Omg, now that Maxima looks like the sort girl next door and a shoulder you can cry on you could be glad to meet with , now that she has invested a remarkable amount of energies to wear flats (she Is used to wearing high heels and I can relate), now that she looks sartorially relaxed and not over the top in the least, now that her hair looks neatly kempt in spite of that damn heat...
now, you, my friend, are still nitpicking and saying it is not a very regal look???
First and foremost, you should be celebrating this flats moment and feet relief instead!
I sense that this glorious shoe revolution won't last for long, so , live for the moment, Virginia!
Conversely, you expect Q.Mary of Denmark to look sun tanned /sun kissed and no makeup (God forbid) and with a lower neckline upon the Oresund Bridge, fighting with those strong gusts of wind and at a cool temperature??
Please, @ Virginia, do elaborate on and enlighten us all about your concept of "being regal".
      You look very confused.

Sorry, this is a big ‘no’ from me. The trousers are awful. The unusual colour combo would be fine if the trousers were fitted and a decent length. Not one of Queen Maxima’s better looks

      @ Annie M.
Culottes trousers or simply culottes- a must have of the current season- are intentionally designed to be cropped and flaired.
Of course, one doesn't have to like this model but I can assure you that they look very flattering on tall women when seen in person.

I love this relaxed look of Maxima's. So refreshing to see her in casual wear, (which she does rather well), instead of complicated high fashion. It shows that she can do all genres of dress. This style sings, "Welcome Summer".

Please don't compare every situation with another because they are completely different. It was 37° C yesterday in most European countries. The advice was stay inside as cool as possible. Drink lots of water. At 22 hours yesterday evening it was still 31° degrees outside. In several parts of some countries the weather forecasts adviced the red code, which is the highest emergency code.
Besides Maxima is not wearing jewelry on these pictures. It was really too hot to wear necklaces and bracelets. Her hair was combed, but when you are sweating during 24 hours, day in, day out, every hair is looking unkempt especially when you have long hair.

"Progressivement à la mode" : elles sont là les ballerines, partout dans les grands magazins, les boutiques, on-line, etc.... Pas que je les porte car pas assez de support pour mes pieds. Mais les jeunes les mettent, une fois autre chose que des sneakers blancs. "Cela fait marcher le commerce" comme on dit.

This is a comfortable looking casual outfit in striking colors. I think if the pants had been a little more fitted, it would have improved the overall look. As was pointed out above, the pants look better in some views. Flats are trending right now. It is nice to see Maxima wearing them.

A fabulous look. I see some are disappointed - but let’s not forget she’s just a person!, who does a lot of public appointments and is probably very ready for a summer vacation. Dressing more casually is totally allowed. More than that, she looks great in this styling. I love these two colours together, and I’d love to wear those shoes if … someone knows the brand?

A lot of people on this blog do not know anything about fashion and colors.
In Europe the colors Maxima is wearing here are fashion in 2025, as well during Winter as during Summer. Besides when is it Summer and when is it Winter ? The climate change has influenced fashion. I see it in my garden, flowers which were coming out in Spring are coming out in February already. With the heat we have now a lot of flowers are almost dried out much earlier than before. There are no seasons anymore, everything changes and fashion is following these changes because people are asking for and buying happy colours as well during the colder period as during the warmer period of the year.
I also learned that variations of green, yellow, orange and wine red are colors that a lot of the bloggers do not like. But in reality a lot of people like these warm colors because they create so many possibilities the whole year. Queen Maxima is no exception and she is combining all these colors she has in her dressing room à volonté.

All colors can be worn during all seasons , it's more about the choice of materials! it was 38 degrees, a heat alert in the Netherlands, so talking about climate, worrying! Finally, I think Max doesn't always have to appear in a queen's uniform, but this outfit is really too much girl next door!

    2. I agree with you a lot @anon 06:55. Climate change is a fact, but some people cannot understand or accept it. Many royals, especially in the northern countries, are fortunately very enlightened in these matters. I love to see how treasures can be found in mom's or daddy's wardrobe 😊. And every color is suitable all year round IMO, it all depents on the fabric. I have a bright yellow quilted jacket and I love it.

Thank you for enlightening us. I don’t know alot about fashion, but do know when something is pleasing to my eye, in proportion to a person’s body, nice fabric and colour. Many royals wear a brand to support the industry in their country or because it is the latest fashion. That does not equate to good taste or best look. Hence the fun of opinions on the blog.

    4. Anonymous2/7/25 14:11

That is what I was trying to explain earlier that in these temperatures the best hairstyle in the end is not looking good anymore. I think the materials of her clothes were thin and wearable during Summer.

Yes and it isn't finished yet. In Belgium we will have a weather change from to-morrow on. But in the South of France, Italy, Spain, Greece the heat will continue. In The Netherlands and in Belgium, Luxemburg and a part of Germany, maybe also in the North of France, the weather will change soon. I am happy we will have normal T° again. I am camping in my living with ventilators since Sunday, I would like to go out and I need to do some urgent shopping.
