On July 1, 2025, Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited the Coopérative Paysans-Artisans in Floreffe, a citizen-led initiative launched in 2013 to promote local, organic, and sustainable farming as well as short supply chains. The visit focused specifically on access to quality food for people living in poverty and was organized in collaboration with the Walloon Network for the Fight against Poverty (le Réseau wallon de Lutte contre la Pauvreté).

  3. Elégant modèle ceinturé que Mathilde a déjà porté dont j'aime beaucoup le haut sur la jupe ample !

Apart from the becoming cut of the bodice, there is nothing about this dress (or the shoes or the shawl) which is in harmony with Mathilde. So glad that she has many other frocks which are gorgeous on her! Lyra.

Great color. A bit overdressed for a visit to a food pantry/distribution center. -AW

Lovely dress. As far as being overdressed for the occasion, it’s a plain summer dress, albeit with a strong pattern. Plain shoes and a wrap to keep her warm in the food storage area, which presumably is cold. It’s obviously semi formal event judging by the people in sashes. You don’t want her turning up in jeans and trainers.

Yes possible overdressed for a food distribution centre - but I see it two ways: 1/ if a queen shows up more casually she is probably more relatable (which is something I love when I see it), but 2/ if a queen shows up hyper-elegant, then it’s a very good fun visit seeing the queen looking very queens! That said, I think this dress is gorgeous for Mathilde. The colours, the fit, the shape - stunning!

Queen Mathilde often uses fashion to signal dignity and respect for the organizations she visits—perhaps the intent here was to elevate the importance of the work being done and the people involved.

I disagree. Being the queen, it’s a great kind of dress for this visit.

She is such a lovely queen I want to like her choice of this dress. Other than the fit and style, it is not a pretty dress. For me the pattern is to bold, the colours are a good contrast but come off bland looking. Not the best, not the worst rewear.

I see it the other way! I find it a stunning dress for Mathilde, incredibly flattering style and colours. I would have loved to see her pair it with ballerinas to simplify it a little given the context of the visit.

Not so good dress on Mathilde, neither the colour nor the pattern are to her advantage.

The clean lines and structured silhouette certainly align with her typical sartorial choices for official visits.
That said, it’s perfectly fair to feel that a particular outfit doesn’t resonate. Royals walk a fine line in dressing for symbolism, season, and setting—sometimes one element takes precedence over personal flattery.

Although the dress is not new, these colors are fashion this Summer.
What I do not understand why Queen Mathilde needed a shawl. At 9 o'clock this morning in Brussels it was already 27 ° C. At noon the t° was 32 ° C . and it was getting warmer and warmer. After her adventure with King Philippe in Chile, she looks tired. They were back home only yesterday and should have been back on Thursday already.

We get to wear all the colours of the rainbow in summer. The main thing is that the colours suit the wearer and I find these colours perfect for Mathilde!

The sophisticated yet vibrant color combination added warmth and elegance to the occasion, perfectly aligned with the community-focused event.
