On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited the exhibition “Nachtreis” (Nocturnal Journey) by Hans Op de Beeck at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp (KMSKA). Hans Op de Beeck is a multidisciplinary artist known for his sculptures, large-scale installations, drawings, and both video and animated films. In 2023, to mark the tenth anniversary of the King’s reign, he also created the busts of the King and Queen, which have since been on display at the Palace of the Nation.
J’aime beaucoup sa paire d’escarpins beige. Elle est en harmonie avec sa robe ainsi que sa pochette.

This is a decent dress. Not one of the old drapes patterns we seen.
ReplyDeleteShe looks much younger!

The queen looks very nice in this dress, love the earrings too. I would like the shirt dress in the first photo if the hem had been even., though it looks like it would be cool to wear.
ReplyDeleteThe simple off-white colour, followed through in the earrings, is lovely on Mathilde and a refreshing change. The bodice design is modern and pretty. Too bad about the ruching across her stomach. It's not just that this section is too tight. The designer has produced a difficult look which the majority of women would struggle to pull off. Lyra.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful outfit. It fits well. Love the colour of her accessories
ReplyDeleteA lovely dress on Mathilde with perhaps the exception of the unusual sleeves.
ReplyDeletePerfect accessories including the cute earrings.

Queen Mathilde looks lovely, very elegant and fresh. This dress hugs all the right places. The earrings complement it very well.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I need to visit this exhibition :-)

Wow, what a good dress! The white makes her very young as well as her hair
ReplyDeleteLe style et la couleur blanche de cette robe vont très bien à Mathilde ; j'aime beaucoup aussi celle imprimée aux côtés asymétriques que la dame blonde a ceinturée de camel !
ReplyDeleteThis built-in cape makes one wonder - is it supposed to be on or off the shoulder? Once it is on and then again it is off and it draws attention to a detail that does not really deserve attention. Also, it seems as if it would limit Mathilde's arm movements, depending on it being on or off the shoulder. For me, a self-purpose design element that does not make anybody look better. The dress minus this shoulder-sleeve-something is very pretty. I think the ruching does not make her little tummy look that different than it would look without ruching, but it is true: a straight "shift" dress is maybe better for her.
ReplyDeleteYes I can’t work out the cape /sleeves either in an otherwise classic dress.
DeletePS, about that puzzling shoulder-sleeve-off-on-cape-like design element : it is a Natan dress, that's why :-)
ReplyDeleteAwe Natan that explains the way the fabric falls around the shoilders
DeleteThese pictures make me cautiously hopeful Mathilde is growing out the layers in her hair, which I think would be much more flattering on her (not long hair, just fewer layers). The white dress is a surprisingly pretty color on her, but the shoulder area looks odd with draping and cutouts.
