On June 3, 2025, Queen Máxima officially opened a new clinic of Bergman Clinics in Capelle aan den IJssel. The sustainably constructed facility brings together six specialties under one roof: orthopaedics, gynaecology, ENT (ear, nose and throat), dermatology, phlebology, and plastic surgery. With this expansion, the organization aims to increase healthcare capacity in the Greater Rotterdam region, where demand for care and waiting times remain high.

Bergman Clinics has been active in the Dutch healthcare system for 37 years and has offered insured, planned specialist medical care since 2006. Last year alone, 375,000 patients were treated. Following the official opening, Queen Máxima toured the new clinic. For the occasion, she chose to wear an ensemble by the Belgian fashion house Natan — an outfit she first wore during the King’s Day celebrations in 2021.

This dress is .... well, not good.
It looks like old drapery fabric.

I don’t like it either, and it simply screams Natan !!

I agree. I also have the impression someone cut the curtains. And the dreadful hat …

I'm also Janet but I don't quite see the old drapery fabric. What I see is a good style but a print that's too busy. Janet

This is just one of those days where Maxima is being her own self. The outfit overwhelms me, but no one can complain about the hair. :)

  4. If you'd described this outfit without seeing the photos, I would have said it couldn't possibly work but on Queen Maxima it does. I think she looks great.

  5. This outfit works well for the Queen, the dress not everyone could wear, she does so perfectly well. Love the color of her shoes and clutch. She is just the person to brighten up the atmosphere in a hospital setting. Her interaction with the lady patient, is great! as is the effect it had on the two staff members! Wonderful!!

I like the dress and I like the colors. Maybe no colours for this season, but when you know that it is looking grey like in the Autumn, that it is raining sometimes, that there is a lot of wind from N-NE, you got the feeling we are in the wrong season. Besides when I say something about a colour, the first thing I have to hear that every colour can be worn in every season. This having said, I don't know what could be wrong with this outfit.

  7. J'adore cette association de couleurs mais à mon goût, le turban/coiffe aurait été mieux dans une teinte unie comme celle de la pochette et des chaussures !

Je suis d'accord. Un turban uni, associé au costume, aurait été plus joli.

Well, Queen Maxima looks good here--this style very much suits her. I can't say I am a fan of the fabric but the colors are good on Maxima. The first photo shows my biggest issue with the dress--it is just too busy.

Agree with Janet regarding the fabric. It’s just too much and distracts from everything else and the focus of the event. Maxima has a strong, bold personality which does not need augmenting with clothing. Everyone will be looking at her anyway—no need to blare her presence.
