Not my favourite look. The suit is nice but the buttoned double breasted jacket and the front pleats on the pants seem to be at odds. Perhaps if the jacket was left open like the model it would be fine. The length hits in the strong spot. I guess that is the reason I am not a fan of double breasted jackets.

  2. Très élégant ce style de costume que j'aime quand il est non boutonné ; j'aime voir quand Maxima s'est intégrée parmi des danseurs !

I like the color of this pant suit. I call it petrole green, but maybe it is also called dark turquoise. Love it.

    Magnifique reine.

She looks like an dutch air hostess from KLM, her attitude during her arrival at Kaapstad towards the press was very rude, she decided last minute that they were not aloud to take any pictures, so they leave with nothing, all free lancers, paid there ticket to South Afrika and madame acts like that, very haughty. She shows more and more another not so pleasant side of herself….

She was on a business trip, she wanted to be taken seriously; no unnecessary paparazzi! but she could not avoid the African welcome of dancers.

You know , @ Anonymous 20:56 , you actually paid Maxima a great compliment.
KLM flight attendants are very beautiful and hard working women, I can assure you.
For your information, anyone from any nationality can normally apply for a job as a flight assistant in air companies.
I'm sure you wouldn't fulfil any of their strict requirements.
I pity the rest of your comment.
Please, check your spelling and geography knowledge before bashing people.
You are just a keyboard warrior.
      Your nerve is beyond words.

@20:56 A public figure does not have to accept to be photographed. Normally in a visit like this - she was with the UN - there’ll be an organised tight program that she will be led through and because she is royal, she will have security too. There may be organised press people with her. All others she will not have time or obligation to stop for. This is not rudeness, in the same way you too do not need to accept to be photographed by a bunch of freelancers who have flown in without invitation to take your photo!! We would not accuse you of being haughty for ignoring such a group, but within your rights. What is your interest I wonder that has made you worry about this issue?

While I don’t think the comment re Maxima not addressing a group of freelancers is fair, I find the comeback of P the Original goes way too far. This isn’t a match and there is no need to send personal, low blows (eg “ I'm sure you wouldn't fulfil any of their strict requirements”, etc) to another commenter here. You can still make your point!

Sorry, I stick to my comment at 08:31.
I do not think my comment went way too far.
You know, I am a flight attendant too and I know all the restrictive requirements you have to possess to enter this world including strict periodical overall testing.
If a commenter starts her post in an aggressive way almost considering a flight attendant's uniform as a sort of downgrading of a Queen's outfit, well, my comeback is justified.
She sounds like someone wanting to humiliate this job and flight attendants' sacrifices.
Every job is worth respect and if someone does not know what a specific job entails, she' d better keep quiet.
Three of the basic requirements someone wanting to embark on a flight attendant career has to possess are empathy , respect and relational skills, not to mention peculiar physical abilities.
If a commenter uses this space to practise verbal kickboxing through her confrontational and judgemental attitude, my comeback follows suit.
And if a commenter labels a woman like this:
" and madame acts like that, very haughty. She shows more and more another not so pleasant side of herself…."...
Well, all that doesn't match my standard of being relatable and showing others due respect.
If this commenter wants respect for herself, she has to show the same respect to others, Queens or not, also considering that she doesn't know anything about Maxima, just like any other reader.
Of course, this is not a match but the above mentioned commenter seems to have no limits and no clues about fair play
Anyway, if Helen reckons that I went way too far, she can delete what may sound too personal in my comment.
      Best regards.
      P. the original.

Lovely color. Think this is a re-wear, but the pants are too long and the jacket puckers at the far right button. Think there is an inside button in the jacket that would have pulled that together. Often that is the case with double breasted jackets. Hair looks good and casual.
