On May 9, 2025, Queen Mary of Denmark visited the Danish Kidney Association’s dialysis clinic in Svaneke, on the island of Bornholm. The Association operates three guest dialysis clinics—located in Skallerup in Northern Jutland, on Fanø, and in Svaneke. Queen Mary has served as the patron of the Danish Kidney Association since 2005.

Upon her arrival at the clinic, Queen Mary of Denmark was welcomed by Michael Buksti, Director of the Danish Kidney Association; Lenette Ipsen, nurse and clinic manager for guest dialysis; and Karin Pihl Andersen, Chair of the Association’s Bornholm branch. Eight-year-old Martha from Nexø School presented her with flowers.

During the visit, she observed how dialysis treatment is performed and gained insight into what it’s like to live with dialysis three to four times a week, along with the many restrictions it involves. More than 3,000 people in Denmark undergo dialysis due to kidney failure.

  1. J’aime beaucoup cette chemise en jean brodée ; à mon avis, il me semble que portée avec un pantalon blanc ceinturé de camel, cela aurait donné un meilleur look !

Mary's outfit is well put together. It looks very neat it suits her. But gee she needs a hair cut just a few inches off would look nicer.

Agreed. Hair looks a little messy in the photos, and could be resolved by pulling back in pony tail or with an ornate clip. Very neat attire, but down played significantly probably for this particular visit. This is fine.

Ha ha! This is surely a joke now, anonymous commenters wanting superbly groomed royal ladies to cut their hair! Let’s let the gorgeous ladies decide their own body operations!!! Hair is so personal. Some are blessed with really gorgeous locks. Let them enjoy it!

    3. I'll never understand these comments. What is wrong with Marys hair? Or Catherines, or Letizias? They all are beautiful and have gorgeous hair.
For what reason should they have it cut?

Anonymous 00:32 please don’t say outright mean things here. It makes it uncomfortable for everyone and is entirely unnecessary.

Just because the outfit is by a ‘designer’ doesn’t mean it can’t be ugly. Mary’s outfit is okay, suitable and probably cost a bundle but it’s not particularly wonderful either.

I agree with 06:44 - negative comments have lately been made about the PoW`s hair and now QM, both ladies have beautiful hair. Yet, excuses are made for Q.Maxima when she appears with bedraggled and what looks like unwashed hair on a regular basis, when, in my opinion she has no excuse as she has access to advice, products and people who could help.
Q.M looks good, her outfit suits the situation and the trousers are a perfect cut for the style.

Maybe we should voluntarily ban content relating to body parts ... someone's hair, someone being small, being too thin, then those allusions to being too large fat without clearly saying it ...

  8. I really like her outfit and I also think the denim shirt would look good with khakis as well!

I suggest she continues to wear her jeans shirt (Ralph Lauren or not) during her free time. Not when visiting patients in a clinic. A white or light blue shirt would have looked better. I feel sorry for the little girl who did the effort to wear her long dress (with the animal print) to meet with the queen, who wore maybe the same shirt she is wearing to go to school.

@13:25 I think the shirt looks super neat, ironed, tucked in, coordinated, suits the wearer; all good. If I had Mary visit me in a clinic, or if I were the lucky little girl to present flowers, I would simply be thrilled - with no thought to judge her clothes. Maybe your feeling towards the shirt is apt in your country? - but it works in Denmark fine.

An important assignment, to see the people who need the help of machines to survive. Like her commitment to her causes. Nice outfit.
