Japan’s Princess Aiko made a two-day visit to Ishikawa Prefecture to observe reconstruction efforts following the Noto Peninsula earthquake in January 2024. On the first day of her visit, Princess Aiko attended a briefing with Governor Hiroshi Hase on the progress of reconstruction efforts at the Ishikawa Prefectural Office. Later, the Princess met with residents at a temporary housing assembly hall in Nanao City.
On the second day of her visit, Princess Aiko visited Shika Town Hall, a temporary store in a local shopping district, and the Community Support Center in Shika Town, Ishikawa Prefecture. After visiting disaster-affected areas of the Noto Peninsula in the city of Kanazawa, the Princess went to JR Station to take a train back to Tokyo.
The massive earthquake struck the Noto Peninsula—a landform that extends north into the Sea of Japan from the coast of Ishikawa Prefecture on Japan’s main island—on January 1, 2024. According to the Ishikawa Prefectural Government, approximately 116,000 houses were destroyed or damaged.
The second outfit, grey checked jacket and dark pants, is a nice one, suits her. Also the black ballerinas are looking good.

Both outfits are nice, but I favour the second one more than the first. The checkered pattern of the jacket against the solid colour trousers, as well as the colour combination are attractive. However, I also get the feeling that white and cream are colours of honour and respect in Japanese Imperial tradition (and black in certain circumstances) which is why we see the higher level of royal ladies wearing those colours so much.

Princess Aiko looks better in these new pant suits. Her shoes are better too. If only the jacket on the navy trousers had a brighter color, it would have been perfect.
ReplyDeleteIt is apparent that both suits are from the same basic pattern. What it shows is how a different colour, shorter jacket can make in the overall appearance. I am amazed how the pants length are in perfect alignment to the floor when she bows, photo 10. The workmanship is so precise. Lovely princess, such a fun smile.
ReplyDeleteLovely princess, I am wondering if it is how she has been taught to stand, feet together that make her outfits appear as they do. Regardless I like the workmanship of the Japanese, always a subtle detail.

ReplyDeleteI prefer the white jacket and tan-hue pants - not sure of absolute color. But this color combination is a favorite of mine and she wears it well.
