The world’s first—and Sweden’s only—National City Park is celebrating its 30th anniversary. In 1995, King Carl XVI Gustaf officially opened the park. On May 19, 2025, King Carl Gustaf and Crown Princess Victoria attended the 30th anniversary celebration at Ulriksdal Palace in Solna. In connection with the anniversary, an excursion was also organized in collaboration with the World Wide Fund for Nature.

On May 19, 1995, King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden inaugurated the world’s first national city park by releasing three doves from Ulriksdal Palace in Solna. The doves were named Värna, Vårda, and Visa ("Protect," "Preserve," and "Display"), reflecting the park’s three guiding principles. The park is open 24 hours a day, all year round.

The Royal National City Park stretches from Ulriksdal and Sörentorp in the north to Djurgården and Fjäderholmarna in the south, spanning the municipalities of Solna, Stockholm, and Lidingö. In total, the park covers an area of 27 km²—nearly eight times the size of New York’s Central Park. It holds significant natural and cultural value, with over 800 species of flowering plants, 100 bird species, four royal palaces, and several museums.

CP Victoria is one of the few princesses who looks good with her hair in a middle part. The side part is looking good too (last pic. on the left). I prefer her jacket with the beige trousers. She always looks good in a sporty outfit : the bag + the trainers complete her outfit. I also like King Carl Gustav's jacket. He needs a haircut (pic. N° 7). I think I can say that about his hair. He is a man not a princess with long (or too long) hair.

    1. Anon at 16:01, I agree what you say about Victoria's hair and clothes. But I desagree about the king's hair. He has always had a little bit longer hair in the neck and he will keep it that way, it's his signature hair style. He likes it and it looks good on him like that. This "hair issue" is becoming hilarious, all women and men are entitled to their own hair styles just like you and me.
