On the evening of May 5, 2025, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima attended the Liberation Day Concert, marking the conclusion of the National Liberation Day celebrations. The concert traditionally takes place on and around the Amstel River, in front of the Royal Theater Carré in Amsterdam. In the Netherlands, Liberation Day is celebrated annually on May 5 to commemorate the end of the Nazi occupation during World War II.
Earlier that day, the King and Queen participated in the Freedom Meal at Theater and Filmhuis Dakota in the Morgenstond district of The Hague. The Meal is an initiative by the National Committee 4 and 5 May, aiming to bring together people from various backgrounds and age groups to engage in conversations about freedom and its absence.
The red Gucci fits so well and her earrings add that little touch of sparkle. I have worn bell sleeves and find that they get in the way, but they certainly make this outfit. Now the Natan suit not sure about, colour is bold, the jacket just looks a little heavy, perhaps it is the length that is out of proportion.
ReplyDeleteNice summary there Anon 00:01. I don’t like Gucci as a rule, I find it so flashy, but this colour is magnificent for Maxima. The bell sleeve would be incredibly annoying for writing or cooking, but here, well her arms are used for waving to the crowd and the bell accentuates that and is probably very useful! The Natan isn’t bad as Natans go, but gees it could be so much better; if there’s a Natan-knowledgeable here amongst us I’d love to learn more about this brand that looks almost continuously badly conceptualised to me.

ReplyDeleteNo photos were posted here about Maxima and K.W-A visit to the war memorial sites on May 4th, but I saw photos on other platforms and Maxima looked very good in those photos. She was dressed very well in black.

Great look of Maxima in her red Gucci outfit. And she had worn this outfit in 2013!! and kept her size obviously. And great combination of colours together with her simple but very elegant cape.
