The King’s portrait was painted by Peter Kuhfeld, and Queen Camilla’s by Paul S. Benney. The portraits will remain on display at the National Gallery until June 5, after which they will be moved to the Throne Room at Buckingham Palace. They will become part of the long-standing tradition of Coronation State Portraits that dates back many centuries.

The red color is cheerful and I like the detail on the top of the sleeves. But I find this a boring and not very flattering style for Camilla. No one wears dresses that zip up the front - save that detail for jackets please. I think she would do better with a straight cut and looser dress - so as to hide some of the bulges. Most of us work hard to camouflage our imperfections. This is my honest critique.

I agree with you. Using a different dress maker could make all the difference.

I agree the colour is very good for Camilla. I also really like the style, which she has made her own, which is a sort of practical no-nonsense uniform, which I find very smart for an older woman starting into this role very late. I can only admire her using her energy on the actual causes she supports, rather than in attempting to be something she’s never been - a style leader. She’s always wonderfully neat, thoughtfully accessorised, smiling and giving her absolute best to the people she meets. For all these reasons, I really admire her style choices. - Mary

Waouh, tout comme la couleur vert sapin, cette couleur rouge est superbe ; elle sied à la reine Camilla. J’aime !

I like the vibrant red of the dress but find the cut boring. However, the queen seems to have several pairs of new shoes in interesting tones, a great improvement and a surprising new look. We must be optimistic regarding the rest.

Queen Camilla looks lovely in this cherry red dress! What a gorgeous color for her. The portraits are fabulous--I love the style used with the crowns on pillows instead of the King's and Queen's heads. I hope to see the portraits in person someday.

Her signature look, the red is a very becoming colour on her. Different detail on the sleeve. Nothing wrong with the style just need better undergarments

Un joli rouge coquelicot. Ces fleurs commencent justement à fleurir.
Le portrait de Camilla semble mieux réussi que celui de Charles (visage un peu flou et décor surchargé). Paloma.

  9. Queen Camilla wears so much blue which always suits her well but the green dress the other day and this red one look superb on her as well. Okay, so the style is repetitive but the different colours are good. Surprisingly, I also like her shoes. The Queen’s portrait is lovely. I’m not sure that the one of the King is the best portrait of him

  11. I like this style of dress on the Queen. I think she has one also in green. The red color suits her well, beautiful. Love her brooch, saw a close up of it somewhere, gorgeous yellow diamonds.

; ) -Dorothe-

Camilla in surprising red: love it!
She ( and her dress maker) found the perfect style for her and stay to endless variations on the basic pattern: nothing wrong with that.
Both portraits are good from what I can see.

Exactly QEII had a signature look dress and coat, so no surprise QC has adopted the same strategy. It fits well, lots of fabric and embellishment options. Just but undergarment would make a world of difference
