On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, Queen Mathilde of Belgium presented the 2025 Baillet Latour Biomedical Award at the Palace of the Academies in Brussels. This year’s award was presented to Coraline Radermecker of the University of Liège for her research on the role of neutrophils in healthy lung tissue in the absence of pathogens.

Established by the Baillet Latour Fund in 2022, the Biomedical Award is presented annually to support the careers of promising young researchers in Belgium in the field of biomedical sciences. The recipient receives one million euros over a five-year period to carry out their research. This year, the award focused on research in the field of the cardiovascular and pulmonary systems.

      Not my favourite Royal dress but an absolutely flattering dress for Mathilde. She can take more from this designer and less from Natan perhaops.

      I think this could be a Natan dress cause I think the shoes are from Natan. Mathilde always selects the right items at Natan's collection. Like recently at the receptioniste for Belgian journalists

    The top part is really extravagant (I had to take a second and third look to see what is what there), but given her slimness over the waistline, it is in perfect balance with what is under the waistline. Looks good, a whole body photo would be nice, maybe Helen works magic. Fittingly, the jewellery is also extravagant but quite likeable.

      So Helen did magic :-) and this dress is in my humble opinion really perfect for her - just the right amount of pizazz mixed with classic elegance. High level, compared to Natans ... well, let's only mention overly wide belts.

    This is a perfect style cut and color on HM. The eyes are drawn to the exaggerated neckline. The earrings are a little more in the ‘Maxima’ style. I always think Mathilde is suited to a dainty jewellery. Though it’s nice to push boundaries every now and again.

      Queen Mathilde has as well classic jewelry as artistic jewelry. Her goldern bracelet is by Belgian jewelry maker Christine Bekaert. Her earrings by Sézanne, I think.

    I am in agreement regarding this very flattering dress! Interesting shoes, but really dislike the gaudy earrings.

    This would have to be one of the most lovely dresses, I have seen in a while. The design is interesting, the bodice, it fits and suits her perfectly. I love her choice of jewel pieces. Her accessory color, perfect. !

    Queen Mathilde wore this dress by Safiyaa for the first time in September 2024 in New York at a diner organised by the UN concerning the violence against children. She met with other royals there like Prince Harry and Princess Mabel (The Netherlands). Also CP Elisabeth wore a pink dress by Safiyaa at the National Day on 21st July 2024. CP Amalia has a dress by this brand too. Everyone who has been wearing a creation by this brand were dressed like never before. Beautiful colors, excellent cut, etc... I hope to see Queen Mathilde in more dresses by this brand.
