King Felipe and Queen Letizia attended a mass for the victims of the floods caused by DANA

On December 9, 2024, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia attended a mass for the victims of the floods caused by DANA (Depresión Aislada En Niveles Altos). The ceremony, officiated by the Archbishop of Valencia, Monsignor Enrique Benavent, was held at the Cathedral of Valencia. It was organized to pay tribute to the more than 200 people who died or went missing during the storm, which devastated several areas of Spain on October 29.

Even in the middle of the mud Battle they stayed there wuth den people. I Respekt that very much, nit everybody would have done so

More than 200 dead; must have been such a heavy hard event for all attendees. I dare suggest she looks sad, not scared.

I think they look serious and sad, which is normal.

I don’t find that she looks scared. She looks more serious and sad, not scared.

      Shame on you.
What on earth are your priorities in life?
Scare and fear of life belong to you, not to others.
The nerve you have spreading lies!
Think about the victims and shut up just out of sheer decency.
      Thank you.

So many people that visit here choose to see the negative, even when it isn't there.

Anon 06.06 It sounds like you're observing the dynamics of the situation, but it's important to keep in mind that we may not always know what someone is feeling or thinking based on their appearance. Letizia might just be focused or deep in thought, and King Felipe's posture could simply be one of attentiveness. Context matters when interpreting body language, so it might not always be what it seems at first glance!

You've just won the award for this month's most stupid comment, I'm afraid. She just looks sad and respectful!

Veerle, what a remarkably graceful way to express oneself. I respect your opinion, but I don’t agree with the assessment of her expression. I think she looks composed and dignified, rather than sad. Sometimes, subtle expressions can convey strength and respect, which can be just as impactful as a more overt emotion. - Anon 16.53

I think you are really weird. How could you think of throwing mud on such an occasion? Everyone feels serious and sad. You are really disrespectful to the deceased and their families.

Queen Letizia chose a respectful, understated look for the event. She wore a black outfit, likely a coat or dress, which is often seen as a color of mourning and solidarity in such situations. Her choice was in keeping with the serious nature of the event, as well as her consistent style of dressing appropriately for public duties.

Well said, it was a sad and solemn occasion. Both of them dressed so nicely for the people without drawing attention to themselves.

Love Queen Letizia's black handbag by Carolina Herrera (first picture), she has the same in cognac color. Queen Mathilde has the same in cognac too.
