At the invitation of King Willem-Alexander, the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, is undertaking a two-day State Visit to the Netherlands. On the second day of the visit, Prime Minister Dick Schoof welcomed President Rebelo de Sousa at the Mauritshuis Museum in The Hague. A government lunch was held at the museum, attended by King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima, and other dignitaries.

ردحذفThis dress makes me smile…the trim looks a bit like hairy armpits! I think it would be more versatile with short or three quarter sleeves. Only Q. Max could carry this outfit off especially with the oversized hat. (V.M.)

حذفThe coat is a nice colour, I even like the matching dress, though a bit busy in the pattern department. A big no to the feathers around the neck and arms. Big hat but I like that it does not hide her face. Nice to see the king help with her coat. In other royal houses they would expect ‘staff’ to wait in them.

ردحذفWow...Maxima looks stunning, first with the hat and coat ensemble (love the colour and the sheen) and then that eye-catching dress underneath as she is removing her coat. My only quibble : the faux fur around the sleeves. Not my thing, and in fact I would have preferred the dress if it did have some kind of sleeves, even a small cap-sleeve.

It is known that short sleeves or no sleeves at all are not a problem for Queen Maxima during winter. I saw pictures of her in a white dress with short sleeves a couple of days ago in London for one of her financial projects. On the other hand it is quite possible to see her with long sleeves during summer. By the way the fury things around the arms and neck are extremely fine threads of a sort of textile. No feathers and no faux fur this time. The dress is a rewair, the coat she is wearing over the dress is new, I think. The hat is a rewear too. She is keeping her hat inside for lunch. When Queen Mathilde is keeping her hat to continue the official part of a state visit inside the Royal palace in Brussels she receives comments.Although we never see pictures of it, I don't think Queen Mathilde keeps her hat during lunch.

ردحذفWhile the hat is not my favorite style; leave it to Queen Maxima to wear it well. And the dress adds just a bit of whimsy to make it cute and not boring.
Mathilde's hats always look like a sombrero - a hat for cowboys and ranchers. I don't like them, they're not elegant.

Love, love, love the color--Queen Maxima looks fabulous in this deep burgundy! But the coat is like a box and dreadfully full. The dress was pretty until all the feathers were added--I'm sorry but they look silly. Get rid of the feathers and remove the boxiness from the coat and this would be stunning.
