King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain are undertaking a three-day State Visit to the Italian Republic. On December 10, Their Majesties arrived at Rome-Fiumicino Airport. Later, they visited the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome, where they met with Spanish scholars and representatives. In the evening, the King and Queen attended a reception held for the Spanish community at the Spanish Ambassador's Residence in Rome.
Her ensemble is giving me a strait jacket vide, she looks so constricted but warm I am sure and elegant!

Exquisite! I love this entire outfit, both with the coat and scarf, and without. Large scarves are in style. She wears hers very well.

Or - a gray or camel coat with a white pantsuit.

I think the outfit actually works well as it is. The monochrome look adds a sense of sophistication and modernity, and the clean lines give it a sharp, polished feel. While a contrasting color could break it up, I think the simplicity of the ensemble is what makes it stand out—sometimes less really is more, especially when the pieces are as beautiful as these.

In the evening there is always a reception at the Spanish Embassy where the king and queen can meet them. During the day he visits a Spanish institution in the capital of the country he is visiting. The state visit in fact starts on the 2nd day. Queen Letizia all dressed in white, but I think her white suit is not made in a fabric which is warm enough for the season. Lucky she brought a white coat and scarf with her.
It is Rome, South Europe, the temperature is about 15 C, not so cold.

حذفIt all depends from where the wind is blowing. 15° C can be moderate but cold when the wind is coming from North or North East. If it is raining the humidity makes it feeling colder than it is.

حذفI am living more Northern in Europe but sleeveless at night with 15°C is not too warm for me. There are also a number of other factors which can make it feel colder than it is : being tired, catched a cold, having not enough sleep, etc... Since Queen Letizia is not living in the North of Europe, I don't understand why you mentionned this.

ردحذفI see your point, but I don’t think she looks unhappy. Her demeanor is often calm and composed, which can sometimes come across as serious, but that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s not content.
