Appreciate the effort to elevate a cotton dress and espadrilles with a jacket at a very casual event, but the execution is quite messy. If she wore a simple knee length sheath instead, I think this would have been more successful.

ردحذفHer dress has a handmade quality to it. The blazer is all wrong with it. That is quite a lot of dress sleeve to stuff into the arms of the jacket. This is one of the reasons women throw jackets over their shoulders.

ردحذفThe fabric of this dress is a too light cotton quality that does not stay in place also because the dress is too big for the duchess. Sorry but on picture N° 4 & 5 she makes me think of a peasant's wife. The print is lovely to make curtains for the room of a baby girl.

Most of the time Sophie is spot on with colours/style/fabric. This is not one of those times. Messy look over all, colours do not coordinate with each other.

Please be kind. To me the fabric of the dress looks like LIBERTY lawn, very light and exquisite cotton, with lots of ironing needed. Far too expensive for peasants

Yes for children not for adults. "Far too expensive for peasants" I don't know in which country you live, but there are peasants who are richer than people with a university diploma and engineers who can sit behind a computer or at a desk, instead of working in the open air.

ردحذفYes in this case - it’s an ag fair at a farm! No need for fancy - a jacket available if required for a moment of judging or chill. I really like how Sophie dresses to fit in to an event and not out-elegant the others. I think this is a very pretty easy summer dress for a farm visit - although I probably would have just gone for jeans and boots - Grace
حذفThe set is 100% silk, made by Soler. The top has been seen on the DOE a few times. The first time I recall it is at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. The sleeves were memorable. It was seen on this blog during one of her trips to Africa.

I like the top as a separate. Not so much with the tiered skirt. Given that it's been seen in extremely hot weather in the past, I wonder if the jacket was an emergency add on. Those flared sleeves stuffed into a jacket must feel awkward.
