From the evening of Monday 20 May to Thursday 23 May, Queen Maxima is making a four-day visit to the Republic of the Philippines in her capacity as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA). The Queen's visit is focusing on promoting financial inclusion and financial health.
The programme includes two field visits on Tuesday. On the first day of her visit, Queen Maxima visited an island, where she spoke with members of a fishing community about the positive effects of the digital financial services offered by CARD RBI on their income and financial health. In a city on the mainland, the Queen Maxima also visited a small neighbourhood shop, known as a 'sari-sari store'.

Love her slippers but one has to be able to walk with on sometimes uneven ground, almost as dangerous as walking too long on high heels. But I think she knows what she is doing, it is not the first time that she visits tropical countries for her work at the UN.
