On May 29, Queen Maxima visited the Codam Coding College in Amsterdam on the occasion of its 5th anniversary. Codam is a software development educational institution that focuses on making technical education more accessible to underrepresented groups, including women and young people without starting qualifications. During her visit, the Queen spoke with students about their education and toured the campus.

ردحذفOkay the hat has to go. It is a nice, but I wonder what the protocol is for wearing a hat in daytime. Love the fit of her dress. She just seems like such a very friendly intelligent woman, I’d love to meet her.
ردحذفProtocol is "the official procedure or system of rules governing affairs of state or diplomatic occasions." Hat etiquette is another matter. I think this falls under the "Queen Rule", as in the queen makes the rules. If Maxima wants to wear a hat, she can wear a hat. Mathilde does the same. No one ever questioned "The Queen". As the wearing of hats continues to die down, we will see this less and less. I, for one, will enjoy the occasions as they occur, even if I don't understand the style of the hat. Maxima has the personality to wear this creation and I am sure she gave everyone a memorable visit.

ردحذفAs for the hat...having a big rose positioned dead centre on her head like that is a travesty. When I look at it, I can't stop giggling..WITH her, not AT her, lol.
(I absolutely love that she doesn't care what anyone thinks, is bold enough not to take herself too seriously, and just wears whatever she likes. More power to you, Max!)

Son style vestimentaire est assez incohérent et excessif.
Parfois elle est très bien (tailleur-pantalon bleu le 28) et parfois c'est vraiment du grand n'importe quoi !
Je me demande souvent si c'est volontaire (par défi ? Par caprice ? Par entêtement ?) ou de l'inconscience "à côté de la plaque".
Elle ne réfléchit pas aux tenues à porter en fonction de ses engagements ? (Comme la robe en dentelle et le chapeau dans une étable !!).
Ou alors elle est persuadée d'être très originale ? !
Mais on ne saura jamais ;)

Just putting it out there, that's a hell of a lot of hat! not in width but height. The dress is feminine and elegant. I love the dusty rose color. I don't like the style of this dress or design. Her accessories blend in well. Not sure if the earrings are the pale aquamarines?
ردحذفThank goodness, crazy Max is back. LOL. After yesterday's lovely, but not even accessorized, blue suit, I'm glad to see she's back to her old self. I really don't like the dress but, the color is blah, but the hat thingee makes me smile.

Love Queen Maxima’s ability to turn up for events in her Queen’s ‘uniform’— smart formal clothes, fab shoes and a hat. It’s obvious to the people she meets that she has made an effort and I’m sure they appreciate it. Having said that, even for me, this hat is a bit over the top and the dress colour is too dull. I do like the pink dress of the little lady who accompanies her but, and I hope the flatty fan club aren’t offended, the overall look ruined by the ugly flat shoes

That hat needs to be burned--it really is an awful hat with no hope of a fix. I like the dress but that frilly, fussy stuff on the bodice needs a bit of an anchor because it is all over the place. Other than the dreadful hat, Queen Maxima looks great here--and her bright, beaming smile is gorgeous!

ردحذفShe visits a coding college. Coding requires math-skills.That hat is an exam for the students: they have to calculate what features the fabrics must have to be placed in that way on her head. The students who pass the exam receive a hat like that. Nobody took part.
