On May 3, 2024, Danish Queen Mary attended the ceremony of changing of the guards in the Chancellery House at Fredensborg Castle. At Fredensborg, the guard is established when The Royal Family resides at the palace at the Chancellery House. On Fridays, either the Royal Life Guard’s Band takes part in the changing of the guard. During the reign of Queen Margrethe, this took place on Thursdays. On Fridays, the officers from the detachment are replaced.
Is she imitating Q Margrethe with her style?

She never used these kind of neck-laces (skirts)so maybe a homage to QM??

ردحذفThe way I see it, it's a simple, elegant style for Mary these days. No frou-frou for now. Perhaps that will come later, when the occasions she must attend call for it, but otherwise it's not needed for all the events that require her presence.
ردحذفHer decorations at the moment are her higher current title and the elevated role that comes with it, not flamboyant hats, shoes and clothing. We know that she can do the latter and she will in time as she grows into her new role and works out the balance after taking over from her predecessor who is still very much present in the minds of the people. If this is the case, I'm fine with it. She looks lovely here.

Lately the low key events she has been attending does not give Queen Mary the opportunity to showcase her exquisite style. Also something else I have noticed as of late is that her hair is styled in a way that looks flat on the top, needs some lifting or body!
ردحذف@FUTZHUGH Queen Mary’s hairdresser and makeup artist recently retired. He is 68 years old and is laying down his scissors and combs and passing on his responsibilities to a younger generation.

Well maybe, but I wonder how Queen Margrethe did it when she was still queen. She was always present to look at the changing of the guards. She must have been a very hard working queen.

حذفI'm not a fan. Something about the skirt bothers me even if I like the high waist, fullness, and length. Would change out the wrinkly shirt to a simple top and put the necklace back in the drawer.

ردحذفI wish people would sign, especially those with the negative comments. Her necklace is somewhat unusual but I have the feeling it was a gift from somewhere and that she felt obliged to wear it. Queen Sonja is very observant in this respect. The beautiful blouse is a classic and probably made of linen so that wrinkles are typical.

Just because linen wrinkles doesn't mean a Queen can't look good. Even her or shall we say her employee could use the iron. The skirt needs a good round with the iron also. And we belive her necklace is a gift? What's your proof? What we believe is irrelevant. You would never see Sonjas n this necklace, her necklaces is of a much higher standard. Now I could write Steven or Emily, but that would be just as anonymous as Virginina so what's the point? We have no proof that anyone is called whatever we write under a comment. Nagging about it on the other hans speaks volumes...

حذفMary’s necklace reminds me of those candy necklaces we had as children. Overall I’m not a fan of her outfit…it looks a bit too casual but perhaps that’s the look she wanted. I suppose I should put a name down as I made a negative comment so today I’ll be…Olga…how’s that?
That is my point. I always sign my comments and find it much easier to reply to someone with a name. Perhaps a question of manners. I never change my name because that would be dishonest. I can tell from the writing style that there are many bloggers here who use the same name and don’t hide behind other
