On May 22, 2024, Princess Anne and Crown Prince Haakon visited Norway's Resistance Museum (Norges Hjemmefrontmuseum) at the Akershus Fortress in Oslo. Princess Anne and Crown Prince Haakon unveiled a plaque given as a gift to Norway's Home Front Museum by the British-Norwegian resistance commemoration project (The Anglo-British Resistance Commemoration Project). The museum collection focuses on Norwegian resistance during the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany from 1940 to 1945.

A nice event for a godmother and her godson to do together.

Princess Anne, is she a princess of Norway?

    1. No. She is from the UK, and is King Charles III's sister. She is CP Haakon's godmother, according to another commenter, and the families are related.

They are third cousins. Her great great grandfather (King George V) and his great great grandmother (Queen Maud) we’re brother and sister)
I like Princess Anne’s outfit but I’m sorry she’s found the dark gloves again!

Her mother taught her how to dress proper, like a lady.

In some pictures her dress looks like taken from the tapestry in the background. Nice blazer.

Yes like an old English lady. This is 2024. She must have dressing rooms full with her old clothes. I prefer the way Queen Sonja of Norway, Queen Silvia of Sweden and Princess Benedikte of Denmark are dressed and they are all older than Princess Anne. And than the way she does her hair. Strange everybody has so many bad comments on Queen Maxima but Princess Anne's hair is as bad as hers. And now Charlotte Casiraghi started to compete with them since she is deliberately busy with ruining her beautiful hair.

I agree with you, m. I like when the royal ladies attire is iconic to them, like Princess Beatrix.

I think Anne looks great, take off the gloves and this is one of her very best looks in years! It is fresh still not too young, not too stiff, and not too matronal!!

Yes, the gloves. I wish she would have dispensed with them.

I think she wears them to events like this because she knows she going to have to shake a lot of hands. In this post COVID world, not a bad idea.

COVID is not the reason for the gloves. She was doing it long before.

I think your conclusion is wrong. Why didn't she wore gloves on the first day of her visit ? And indeed she always wore gloves long before Covid. Besides she did survive when CP Haakon kissed her on the cheek. If she is afraid to catch something she shouldn't kiss another person either. What I do not understand is that if she must wear gloves for any reason what so ever, she always wear such thick old fashion winter gloves with her spring/summer outfits. There are thin leather gloves in all the colors one can imagine and they are much more stylish and elegant.

"COVID is not the reason for the gloves. She was doing it long before."
I didn't say her reason was for COVID. Did you not see the periods at the end of my two sentences? And yes, I know she's done it long before this event and so did the Queen. It is my understanding that events were there are going to be a lot of hands to shake it is sometimes more comfortable - and yes, sanitary - to wear gloves. I would imagine that after a while your hands get dry, or wet from other people's sweaty hands, sore, and just plain tired of being handled. And germs are germs; whether they are COVID germs or any number of other germs that are on people's hands. Wearing gloves reduces the risk of transferring them! Get a frik'n clue!

What a weird approach of real life. How come other royals do not get sick after they shaked many hands. Alcohol gels are still available. I have always a little bottle in my handbag. And on every event there are toilets where you can wash your hands with soap. If your are afraid of catching something you do not kiss people on their cheek even when it is family. I have always been told that it is not very polite to shake hands with gloves on. Besides you can still get sick just by breeding the air if you are among other people.

  8. The outfit looks great, love the white blazer and Navy trim, matching her dress. Navy accessories blend in well. She looks fabulous. The brooch is a lovely addition. She has marvellous work ethic. She really is a wonderful Princess and lady.

La veste : oui, très chic.
    La robe : non.
AnnieM : ses gants sont assortis à sa tenue, ils sont bleus, pas noirs.

    2. Nonsense. She is 73, slighlty younger than her brother, King Charles. Their mother was 96 when she died, less than two years ago.
