On April 18, 2024, the Royal Court of Norway released a new official portrait of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit. The photo had been taken last year by court photographer Dusan Reljin in the Great Hall (the Ballroom) at the Royal Palace of Oslo on the occasion of the 50th birthdays of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit. In 2023, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit celebrated their 50th birthday. For the photo, Crown Princess Mette-Marit had worn a new red gown designed by her friend, Norwegian designer Peter Dundas.

حذفI agree 100% with Lili, they look amazing and were captured beautifully. But I think the photographer did not do a good job with the lighting as there are too many oddly placed shadows, especially in both their faces, I also think the background is too bland and that MM's head is placed oddly against the square cutouts of the door. Not even a single floor vase with flowers to add some color or liveliness. Whatever effect the photographer was going for, I always feel that official portraits have a historical purpose, and therefore should show the subjects clearly, and entirely (head to toe), which they did here. ردحذفThis has got to be one of the best gowns that she has ever worn, hands down. They both look more like a King and a Queen in this portrait rather than the heir + spouse.
