Fernando Gomez-Acebo, cousin of King Felipe VI of Spain, passed away at the age of 49 this Friday. Fernando Gomez-Acebo was the son of Infanta Pilar, King Juan Carlos' sister. He was the youngest of the five children of Infanta Pilar and Luis Gómez-Acebo. on March 1, 2024, King Felipe, Queen Letizia, and Queen Sofía of Spain attended the funeral mass at the Alcobendas funeral home in Madrid and shared their pain with their families.

Last week, King Felipe had visited Fernando Gomez-Acebo in Quiron University Hospital, where he was admitted after the health problems. His chronic respiratory failure worsened after being infected with coronavirus and flu.

    Photographing royals at a private family occasion - especially at the funeral of a relative - seems inappropriate to me. Therefore, I will not comment on the clothes.
    But I will give my opinion on the overgrown beard of men in general - and King Felipe. I like some men in an overgrown beard and even look very "cool" in it. But - if the beard is significantly gray, the man looks much older than he really is. If he shaved his beard, he would look younger. I can't help it - gray or white men's beards evoke in me memories of old grandfathers.

      I agree with you completely about beards Stephanie.
      In my humble opinion Felipe, Willem and Fred would look a lot younger without their beards.

    Je ne suis pas du tout fan de la barbe grise mais lorsqu'elle est combinée avec une moustache fournie le tout bien taillé, cela peut convenir à certains hommes ; j'ai déjà pu le constater chez le président tchèque lors de sa visite d'état récente au Luxembourg car cela lui donne beaucoup d'allure !
