Japan's Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako arrived in the central prefecture of Ishikawa for a one-day trip to areas affected by the magnitude-7.6 earthquake that struck on New Year's Day. The Emperor and Empress visited the Ishikawa cities of Wajima and Suzu in the afternoon to meet with people affected by the quake and officials who have been working on disaster responses. A strong earthquake of magnitude 7.6 hit the Noto peninsula of Ishikawa Prefecture, central Japanese main island, on January 1st.

The Empress is wearing a very sharp looking blazer - appropriate business casual wear, and also dressed well for obvious cold weather. Same with the Emperor's dark turtleneck.
ReplyDeleteIts splendid to see the Royal couple making this important visit.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see them on a field visit. They both look very appropriately dressed. I hope we see these field trips more often.

Today, it's not about style and fashion but all about empathy and sympathy. Wonderful!

How marvelous the Imperial couple look! Perfectly attired for such a visit--low key and informal. The Empress look wonderful in her blazer and trousers--the shades of gray are appropriate for the occasion too. I have to say I really like seeing the Emperor in this quasi-buisiness casual look. He looks quite handsome, even debonair. I feel frivilous with the focus on fashion when this visit was such an important one--the compassion from the Imperial couple is easy to see from their faces as well as their sincerity as they listen and learn.

Pour cette sortie en dehors du Palais, le couple impérial est vêtu de manière informelle en associant du gris et du noir ; j'aimerais bien que l'avenir nous réserve de les voir plus souvent sur le terrain !
