I love the skirt, world, and the blouse we see under Camilla's open coat. Great outfit for a charity visit.

Lovely jacket on Queen Camilla and her hair looks superb. Not keen on the skirt, but it’s not a bad choice either. Her lovely smile and pearl earrings are the real winner here.

  4. Je remarque que Camilla a ressorti de son dressing ce manteau camel dans lequel elle a belle allure mais je ne suis pas fan du chemisier dont les manches dépassent !

I like this coat, the colour and the detailing from the neck to the hem as viewed from a distance. I don't much care for the split on the cuff. It gives the impression of a torn sleeve, especially with the frill of the blouse sleeve showing through.

I like Camilla’s coat; very pretty edging on the front and sleeves.

What a great queen. How nice it is to see a completely normal woman, not with the whole colour palette on her face, no high sophisticated designer clothes at unspeakable prices, just great how Camilla dresses in public despite being Queen. I actually believe that she took this job out of love for her husband and not because she has access to designer clothes and top make-up artists. I admire her! Frieda

Camilla was meant to be Princess Consort but insisted she be called queen according to a recent article in the Telegraph because if Charles was king, she needed to be queen. This is not a woman taking on anything just for love of her husband - this is an ambitious woman looking to her position. There is nothing wrong with that although it was not an enhancement to Charles' reign, but the idea that she is some reluctant royal just doing it for Charles, couldn't be more wrong.

We don't know the cost of that coat, her clothes are designer - not off the peg - and she has a huge collection of private jewellery. Leila.

    3. Dear Leila.
I understand the opposite to the points you’ve made about Camilla.
Just after her marriage to Prince Charles, she openly stated that she didn’t want to be Queen and just wanted to be Princess something or other. She knew she was going to have a popularity problem and would have to carry the cross for the rest of her life being known as “the other woman”.
In the end she accepted the Queen Consort title but it was Queen Elisabeth who stepped in and said that she had to be known as Queen Camilla.
Her popularity rating is still low against other royal women but there is a big palace P.R. team behind both her and the king to up their popularity.
A YouGov survey in late 2023 found she had an approval rate of 41%
Princess Anne scored a figure of 67. King Charles 51%
I am not a fan of Camilla, but I must admit that, against wind and tide, she is doing a good job.
On the point about private jewellery, well that’s another subject for another day.

Danke ,deadeggs, für die Infos. In anderen Ländern hat man oft weniger Zugang oder Gelegenheit zu diesen Dingen. Und ansonsten bin ich ganz Ihrer/Deiner Meinung!

The facts you state is what we were long published but in the end, they proved false. It was finally recently admitted in a favourable, authorised article, that it was Camilla, not Charles, who pushed to be called queen. Also it was Queen Elizabeth who suggested using Queen Consort. She knew there was a problem but Camilla wouldn't have it and after Charles became king, that was changed. She put herself and her non-royal relatives forward at the coronation, ahead of royals and there families who had worked for the royal family for years. An article at the time, said she saw it like the wedding, she imagined she never had - although she did have a large ceremony.

This is why I dislike Camilla - all royals try to manipulate the press but Camilla's press has been fawning, false and heavy-handed which continues to this day (poor me - I'd rather have my feet up...) I suppose given her whole relationship with Charles was built on lying, it comes naturally. And also in an authorised biography of her, Diana was rubbished with private information only Camilla or Charles could know. Diana is dead - it can't harm her, but it can harm her sons. A decent step-mum would always be gracious about her predecessor for the sake of the children and their families, but I'm sorry to say, in spite of some fine charity work, I respectfully can't agree with Frieda. Camilla is out for herself - not Charles or the nation and certainly not for his heir.

  8. In photo N°4, I mistook Camilla for Dame Joanna Lumley who is the British actress that played the role of Patsy in Absolutely Fabulous.
The last time I saw Camilla in this coat, I gave it a “yes” vote and again it’s a yes from me.
A colour that suits her and the finish on the openings give it a touch of craftsmanship.
The black gloves give a balance to the black boots.

Queen Camilla looks really good in her camel coat and reddish skirt.
She seems more and more comfortable in her public duties: good for her!

Camilla carries on her duties while Charles is recovering from his hospitalisation. And they are in their late 70s. Fair play to her who does not like being in the limelight. Unlike William. The reputation of laziness is well confirmed for the Wales.

I don't think Charles is in hospital yet. He goes in sometime this week.
I wouldn't call the Wales' lazy. They do their fair share of commitments and sometimes more. I think a father has the right to take a work leave to care for his sick wife and three small children. Only they know what's right for their circumstances; no one else does.

I’m quite surprised that the owner of this blog published your harsh comment. Really rude! Everyone has own opinion, should respect others, who are you to openly insult others, calling them ‘an ignorant and small minded’ ?! And dictate what could be said or not ?!
I don’t agree myself with what was said, however your attitude is more shocking than the supposed irrelevant comment. Sorry, there are ways to say your disagreement, please learn to be kind and polite.

Have not heard Sloanish for decades....

    2. Me too. Haven’t heard this expression “Sloanish” for donkey’s years.
For our fellow bloggers who don’t understand what we are talking about, here is an explanation.
Sloane Square is a chic and snobbish area of central London, close to Hyde Park.
A lot of the people in this area were/are young people from wealthy country families who have a house or apartment in the surrounding locality.
Princess Diana lived in this area when she became engaged to Prince Charles.
The people in this area are often called Sloane Rangers.
People, objects, fashions and behaviour can be referred to as very Sloan-ish. (Sloanish)
The word is usually used in a pejorative way.
