On December 19, 2023, Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited the exhibition "Dieric Bouts. Creator of images" exhibition at the M-Museum in Leuven. Dieric Bouts (1410-1475) is one of the most important Flemish Masters. From the 20th of October until the 14th of January M-Museum present an extensive retrospective exhibition on Dieric Bouts. Bouts worked in Leuven from 1457 until his death in 1475.
This glen plaid suit is superb. I love that unique draping at the neckline. It adds a modern touch to a classic style along with the unusual red or pink hue. I wonder who designed it. Mathilde looks wonderful.

Sorry but I think this suit is not at all flattering. I think it makes Queen Mathilde look much larger than she is, especially round the middle. The round neck top also is not the best neckline for her

Queen Mathilde looks lovely in this repeated top and trousers. I like her clutch. It is a new Dutch brand called "Nora's bag". The clutch's name is "Maxima". Maybe she received it as a gift from Queen Maxima.

ردحذفNot a fan of this outfit. The big blob of material hanging off the one shoulder looks ill-placed. Would have been better if an interesting collar-line would have been added, rather then the swatch of fabric thrown at the suit, hoping it looks good. Edwina
