On December 19, 2023, Queen Letizia of Spain attended the annual meeting of the directors of The Cervantes Institute centers at the Oscar Niemeyer International Cultural Centre in Aviles, Asturias. Established in 1991, The Cervantes Institute is a public body that aims to promote and teach Spanish language and spread Spanish and Latin American cultures. It is present in 88 cities in 45 countries on the five continents, with its centers and classrooms.
