On Thursday morning, November 2, 2023, Dutch Queen Maxima attended the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Home-Start in the Netherlands. The event took place in Culemborg. Home-Start is a global program that supports families in raising young children. In 2009, the Queen had attended the organization's 15th anniversary.
Together with nearly 2,800 trained volunteers, Home-Start offers help to parents in growing children. Families themselves indicate about which everyday parenting tasks they want to receive help. Volunteers are linked to a family for a longer period to ensure continuity. With this support, Home-Start works to prevent small problems in a family from developing into serious and long-term problems.

ردحذف@ missy. Yes the hat is necessary with the storm Ciaran coming over the Netherlands today. The strongest hairspray cannot hold any hairdo. So a hat was a good solution. If she didn't wore one you could have said she didn't comb her hair. With the hat you can't. If you take a good look on certain pictures you see 2 pearls on her hat (which are the top of 2 hairpins) Normally people were advised to stay indoors today and only go out when it was really necessary.

Oversized cat? I don’t see it, but how wonderful if she really did turn up with an oversized cat! The must have fashion accessory of Fall 2023. Meanwhile, the hat is gorgeous and perfect for a Queen. (Fiona)

ردحذفGoodness, Queen Maxima looks sensational. Love the Navy dress and her accessories, perfect outfit. I particularly like the neckline and darts of the front, adding interest. Very elegant. The embellishment on the bodice works well (I'm not sure if its a brooch?). She suits this style of hat beautifully.

It seems that only in Europe "oversized" embellishments like some of you call it are fashion. We have seen it lately on Queen Mathilde, Princess Astrid, GD Maria Teresa and Queen Maxima who wore sometimes similar "brooches" in the past.
